Tried to buy a few this morning but only getting quoted in small amounts

Hey Jantand, hope you (and everyone else here) is safe and well. As ‘our man on the ground in SA’ how do you feel the lockdown is progressing. From what I read things seem to be ok over there and Ramaphosa doing ok in implementing policies to stop the spread. Hopefully after 3-weeks we’ll be ok to start mining again but very aware this could continue a lot longer.

Let's hope it's only 3-weeks. As Hemmings points out, coal prices in rand going great guns. Think the RNS was the best we could have hoped for in the circumstances.

think we get some clarity on Uitkmost shut down today. Sounds as though government allowing some of the mines to stay open.

700k traded on JSE. Just 26k on London. I’ve sold nothing. Gutted we’re down here.

Nothing has changed from the time I saw Brenda in London a few weeks ago. Coal and South Africa out of favour, coronavirus not helping sentiment. Echo what Jantand said, this will happen. Not heard anything how PIC meeting went but others lined up if that falls through. Volumes pitiful in London, no buyers. And as Hemmings8 said, stops today on JSE and London

from the previous RNS on 10-Feb, those shares were from his vested performance rights from 2015 and 2018. i think he had this other opportunity and wanted to join them asap so they cancelled his 6-month notice period and didn't receive any pay for it. don't think he was asked to resign.

Coal prices in rand going up. Uitkomst steady. Sounds like we have an offer (or two) on table but are waiting for outcome of PIC discussions. Someone should take company out at these prices

More buys than sells today. Interesting.

I met with Brenda in London this week, she explained DB joining unlisted platinum/nickel/gold venture having been CFO/CEO of listed SA company for last 21 years.

We’re in good hands tho. We currently have 4 options, and our top option is aware of urgency.

Brenda was running financing so whilst DB leaving shocked me, I don’t think it makes much difference. Uitkomst is running well etc etc

Decent numbers out of Uitkomst. Nothing new in release. I might have something to add later, watch this space....

Fraser did his best. Raising they kind of money in these times isn’t easy. It need someone like AAL to utilise it’s balance sheet to raise those kind of funds. Banks don’t have this kind of risk appetite any more, especially when nobody knows how to price the end product

I think this will be next Friday. Need something positive, we need to get mining!!!!

Richards bay coal up another $4. No idea why. Beginning to drag up Rotterdam and Newcastle

Buy MC Mining mate. BP= dull. Coal prices are rallying and news due.

i'm sorry to say, Danakali doesn’t have the balance sheet to make an offer for us here. Only has a market cap of £100m, minimal cash flow/revenue and won’t be able to make an offer and fund rest of project. Anglo is a giant and has funding and balance sheet to complete the project. While many private investors will lose out, the project is still going ahead.

why do ppl think the government should bail out the project when the free market can raise the money? if government did it, the liquidation would be so great that you would never see 5.5p

if anglo hadn't bid, are we not looking at administration?

often with many projects like this listed on AIM, they never actually get to production. this project was far too big for the management.

its dark times, main take aways are always have a balanced portfolio and never invest what you are not prepared to lose.
