The post Redknight has copied is poor. It doesn't take account of wider market conditions or any of the risks.

Copper prices look set to be low for the foreseeable as global growth slows down. Gold will meander about but will be prevented from reaching the highs that many analysts have been predicting for some time now.

In short, a competitive bid process isn't likely to materialise. Jiangxi have been on the scene for some time now and neither of the big shareholders appear to be remotely flustered.

Hopefully SolGold can keep the plates spinning out in Ecuador long enough. That's what this hinges on.

I'd still be in favour of a Cascabel sale and regional spin off if we could get some assurances that the regional properties and prospects can be honoured and protected going forwards. We've barely scratched the surface.

I can't help feeling that the regional drilling point stands though. One or two rigs to go and test Helipuerto wouldn't have broken the bank. I don't think anyone is saying they expect SOLG to have rigs and teams spread the length and breadth of Ecuador.

I've been saying in some recent posts that this is heading for a sale over a JV. I don't believe it will be a good deal for us legacy SOLG shareholders.

I'm still disgruntled at the way the company managed cash off the back of the PFS and has subsequently mothballed it's regional portfolio. You can be giddy about a sale as much as you like but that's poor from the company.

SOLG investment case: The company has got a large asset in the political basket case that is Ecuador. It's angling for a takeover whilst sitting on and conserving cash.

Can you blame investors for not buying that? I can't.

Yes Fort I do think it'll be acceptable. The alternative is stump up £2bn to fight the Chinese and then stump up another $3-5bn to fund the capex.

Had SolGold made more progress in recent years on getting full permits and protections in place I think they'd be more inclined to take the carrot, but in reality SOLG has achieved close to naff all with the government, and for that reason I expect BHP will fold em.

To put it simply, the CGP crew are only here for a sale/exit. We must not lose sight of this. They have inserted their people into the key positions and have put Cascabel on the equivalent of care and maintenance.

SolGold no longer has the operational model to cope with a JV. Headcount and with it expertise is being rationalised, the opposite of what you need for a JV.

In terms of what the implications are given the January expiration of the licences, well - draw your own conclusions.

I think a quid is quite fanciful. We're operating from a position of weakness. 35-45p is what we're looking at, and for those who doubt this will be acceptable to other shareholders, let me assure you it will be acceptable to all when the alternative is total wipeout.

There's a number of reasons actually FTJNY.

- Maybe they are an Ecuadorean that doesn't approve of mining at Cascabel

- Maybe they are an artisanal miner pushed out by the likes of SolGold

- Maybe they work for one of SolGold's peers/competitors

- Maybe they have been crossed by someone connected to SolGold over a previous business deal

- Etc etc

As much as I've found their attempts today laughable, they aren't breaking any laws or any rules. Instead of trotting the same old line out, maybe try countering their argument? Suppose it helps to have a good grasp of what's going on to do that.

Anyone who had reason to believe the IPA was likely could use this time to make an opportune offer, but they know it likely won't be considered.

So they'd rather wait for the insurance which will be better received by their own shareholders.

The issue with where we are now is that If SOLG gets the agreements signed without delay then shareholders will expect an offer immediately, and they may be disappointed all over again.

The question we should be asking ourselves is whether there is much lower fruit on the tree.

They haven't added to the share count because none have been exercised yet. That'll happen bit by bit as they do get paid for.

The block listing is just admin that stops SOLG from having to make numerous applications to LSE.
