RE: Peel Hunt raises target price25 Jul 2023 17:05
The tanks and jumps are all due to the big boys moving to align to either buy in, or sell pricing.
The movements of pricing for lets say a 2p gain, is due to the order book requests, eg. I buy 100 shares at £12, I then buy at £12.01, I then buy at £12.02 and so on.
The MM's put a spread against every share.
So they offer Bhants £11.99 a share, and charge Bot £12.02. They bank the £0.03 for the MM's, the traders charge the £4.95, or £9.95 etc. for the actual trade immaterial to volume, and bhants gets £11.99, and botbot gets one share at a price of £12.02.
Then, immediately after buying, the sell price is logged in the trading system, so within your account, you will see 1 share cost £12.02, price £11.99, loss £0.03 with a relevant % of loss shown.
I'm trying to keep this as simple as sort of can without blowing minds.
