It's very likely that if you sell BP tom the Sp would have fallen. By amount equal in value to the divi. Well that's the theory.... so your trade of holding BP into ex div. selling on ex div date will not yield you ... what I'm saying is pointless waiting for a divi to sell on ex div day

You should own the share one day before the ex-dividend date to receive the dividend ie by close of trading today. Tomorrow u can sell and still be entitled to the divi ,.. hence why in theory (text book) sp should fall tomorrow by the amount of the divi....

There was an article featured on PHD (Proactis) in the latest edition of Shares Magazine. Anyone interested in reading it email me at noel.borg@gmail.com and i'll send u it. on CMBN even investing now 1000 shares at 170p = £1700 plus stamp duty/broker fees = £1715 ... 30p special divi on 1000 shares = £300 ... 300/1715 = yield of 17.5% .... what's not to like. the SP would need to fall below 141p for you to lose money ... don't see that happening. CMBN holders have I missed something?

Was supposed to be a speculative trade (Bollinger Bands) mean reversal back up .. obviously 9 weeks in that didn't quite work out so I am sitting here .... looked at the chart today and I see where u are coming from. I see consolidation in the sp and momentum rising and possibly due a breakout. Just bought into SMDS at 438p a yesterday. It was a down day for the FTSE today yet this stock faired pretty well today and whilst there was selling pressure the buyers did come back in. I bought in after reading a recommendation to buy from last edition of Share Magazine. Price Target set at 515p. Looked at the daily chart and I can see some positive momentum in this stock (MACD about to cross above 0) ... Momentum leads price so bodes well. Borgy

Nhmusicman - agree with you. Trend and Momentum Oscillators stack up well. I wasn't indicating it will fall tomorrow, just it could (potential) based on text book theory.

Shooting stars indicate potential price tops and reversals. The shooting star candle is most effective when it forms after a series of at least three or more consecutive rising candles with higher highs which is what we have had .... Lets see how this plays out tomorrow.

I am relatively new having joined on 01/03 ... my analysis indicates that they have been on the acquistion path themselves but you are indicating that possibly they may be a target themselves. I have noticed rather sizeable volume buys (and sells) which indicate II activity. who knows?

within the range ..150p has often proved a ceiling but holders not long to go. there is a wee stock i have been following and in since 1st March at 1.677 PHD ... interesting AIM stock but its doing well for me. check it out. Its started to run for me. I am late in but i have set a £2.00 end of year price target. why do i like it.... i think institiional investors are getting involved in this... put it on your watch list. currently 182p on the bid....
