Has recent abnormal heavy rains over the last 60 hours in Minas Gerais affected the mine or site operations
The highest amount of rain recorded for 110 years fell in 24 hours. Over 40 people have died and a state of emergency has been put in place by the Govenor of Minas Gerais.
in your post of 14th Jan you invited me to email you direct in order that you will arrange for me to visit the site
I have today sent you mail requesting you to facilitate this ,
I am currently not in Brasil as i leave for the silly season of Christmas,New Year and carnival when nothing happens or is achieved. If you can obtain the provisional approval i can confirm when i will be returning.I would appreciate if this invite could also be extended to my agronomist.
With regard to you facilitating the sale of my shares i will decline your offer until after my visit.
As a farmer in Brasil i have followed this stock and appraised their product over a 2 year period
At 16 p when i first reviewed it and considering the ag business here i thought it grossly overvalued although many ramped it upto 23p.
I watched its steady decline, had discussions with Agracerrado , agronomists and the like and foolishly when it dipped to 9.65 i became an investor thinking they could not make things worse . Boy was i wrong. Things since have been an unmitigated disaster in every way.
Recent discussions between my manager and their sales team have not eased my concerns.
Brasil is effectively closed for business now until after carnival in February so nothing of import gets done or decided.
I was hoping for an upturn so i could get out at my entry level but i think thats a dream.
Who knows ....here is hoping
I keep repeating this
Sales do not represent income here in Brasil particularly in the Ag business
What you really need to see is income. A lot of deals are done based on barter and /or deferred payment based on crops
For example i am currently leasing land to a soy farmer . My payment will be in beans when the crop is realised,Soy is on a 4 month cycle so realistically i wont receive income until i sell the beans ......probably 6 to 8 months
Patch,you are so correct
I lack all faith now in this company and its pathetic board
they entered a business hostile country with little understanding of the complexities
Brazilian Businessmen have a well used slogan "f--- the gringo"
They certainly managed that with the Geociclo fiasco
Everone has been saying time and time again what they need is sales and more importantly revenue from sales
What have they achieved in this sphere .... NADA
Even if things start to tick up a bit what are they going to do with ever depreciating Reais
Finally the BOD muppets are listening to the customer. I recall a lot of animosity when i commented on the packaging size and who the target customers should be about a year ago
I guess the sales team and not the principles have finally seen the light after talking to the more moderate end users and the agronomists on the ground.
Mc M and Hey ho Hey Ho are only interested in but doing badly at trying to drum up interest in the shares in London etc
this could be a turning point IF they let the tech and sales guys get on with the job
