For what it's worth this is why I'm invested in the company and hope to be for years to come.
In just over two years IDP has turned a £30,000 acquisition of Skinny Tan into a company that imo is now valued at around £50 million, based on current run rate. I expect this value to continue to grow in future years as it launches product extensions and gains traction in other countries and through new retail channels.
However what is exciting to me is that they imo have at least 3 brands that can IMO overtake Skinny Tan and become even more valuable. Roots, Stevie K and Skinny Bright. all these operate in bigger markets that Skinny Tan and although there is more competition I believe the IDP route to market will prove to be successful.
I also believe this growth can happen much quicker than Skinny Tan did. With Skinny Tan they basically started from scratch. They had to gain customers (now over 220,000 direct customers) and entry into retail and etail channels. They are now able to leverage the Skinny Tan relationships to gain traction for these other brands.
For example I doubt Roots would have got listed in Superdrug if it wasn't for Skinny Tan's performance with them.
On top of these 4 brands they also have 4 others which could also do well, but I'm just not sure how well. Body Glow is in a very saturated market and I don't know if it's USP is good enough to turn it into a mega brand. The same goes for Charles and Lee. Having said that they could both still be very useful contributors to the bottom line.
Leimo and Prolong are slightly different, both operate in similar markets, but these are totally different to the other group brands.
The route to market is completely different and we're mainly talking about a big one off purchase with potentially some smaller recurring sales. Both have a large potential customer base though and it will be interesting to see how successful IDP is in b ringing these to market. If either or hopefully both do well then they could also be really meaningful long term contributors to IDP.
I have a long term view on IDP, but unless something meaningful changes to the downside then I really do think these can be a multi bagger over the coming years.
In fact the skies the limit
