Audioboom has signed multi-year renewals with three premium shows and announced new commercial agreements with five top-tier podcasts.
Audioboom continues to strengthen partnerships and scale the platform, it is developing its attractiveness in an active podcast M&A market and we look forward to the Q4 trading update in January, additional new podcast wins and renewals, and the group potentially benefitting from an attractive approach to acquire Audioboom.
With 90% of revenues in Dollars and 50% of the cost base in Sterling, we expect Q4 EBITDA to benefit.
The shares trade on a FY22 PE of 25X falling to 15.6X FY23, very attractive for this highly scalable platform.

Let’s take July weekly downloads of 14,439,665 v December 14,850,000, or average downloads in July 4,545,829 v December 5,025,137. Also have a look at Cumulus which is nearer competitor showing significant reductions for comparable months - downloads July 20,222,183 v December 16,379,150. I prefer to listen to the CEO who compares year on year rather than month to month.

Songplayer, FinnCap set the 22.50 about a 12 months ago and maintained the 2022 and 2023 forecast figures. The fair market value price target will be revised simply because that would reflect other valuations in the industry. However FinnCap have always identified Boom as a potential take over target and the historical values for deals have been anything from 5 to 10 times earnings.

Metrics for media and tech have changed significantly over last 12 months from 5 or 6 times annual revenue to about 1 or 2. Boom was valued by FinnCap at just over 4 times revenue and also M&A activity in 2020 and 2021. No activity in 2022. Current MC of Boom is around GBP70m which is around actual FY22 annual revenue of USD83m. We wait to see next week the new FinnCap note. Will Forecast revue remain at USD 100m which gives a value of over GBP5 on just one years revenue metric. It’s a pure guess but I think FinnCap will place a value of between GBP10 to 15 based on current metrics and excluding any M&A activity.

Reference some new posts here who’ve no idea what Boom is doing in the podcast sector, they should register with finnCap, the company broker, to get registration details for on line Investor Update which is done very well by Stuart Last CEO and Brad FD. Should be on Monday 23rd as well I believe. Q4 and FY22 figures should be as per forecast which would be another big increase in revenue over FY21. An incredible achievement given the softness in advertising the general market.

I’m not sure you’re comment deserves addressing as it’s not a valid question the way you’ve phrased it. Are you suggesting podcasts v YouTube as a means to make content? Well the link given earlier answers that. But if you’re trying to say is YouTube better than Audioboom then that’s not valid. Just find out what Boom has been doing and it’s growing business and revenues. I think you’re just muddying the waters.

Agree with you drice. It’s been such a shame that unsavoury shareholders got involved and perhaps the final one to go is ASLR on Friday. Not much management can do other than continue to run the company to its best ability and achieve its targets - which it’s doing. Stuart Last purchasing on Friday shows he’s confident and he should know the health of Boom.

If you read the email shed it says “global” and not weekly average. You go ahead and use whatever you want. I’ll go with the management who know the sector. And in fact have just bought more. I presume you sold then!

Good comments sievco. Boom has been I fortunate to attract a web of investors who saw the company as an important element in their plan to build a tech media conglomerate.

So that's 21% annual growth in reach for us while eMarketeer suggests podcast audience growth of 6.8% over the same period. We're outperforming competitors by almost 3X

Yes, Nov 2022 is lower than October... but it's bigger than September, which in turn was bigger than August, which was bigger than July (total global numbers)... so I would suggest October was a positive outlier, and that growth in audience is still continuing at a good pace.

You can use those numbers on the BB and say they're from me. Definitely no concerns over audience growth - Un quote

Is the new valuation metric one year’s revenue because that how it stands at the moment. Are SPOTIFY and Netflix etc on the same basis?
