...rising above the 250p flotation price, not a bad trick in a market that is down nearly 200 points. Interesting to see the institutions have been stake building at the depressed prices, obviously they knew something the disgruntled pi's - who were miffed at not making an instant profit - failed to grasp. Slowly, slowly catchy monkey - sometimes you need to be patient to make a profit. A good set of results and the declaration of a div, albeit very small to begin with, should see this pushing 300p for a nice 20% profit. ATB.

Prefer to take my divs as new shares via their DRIP so have seen my holding grow 32% over the last five years. That and the fact that I don't really like going abroad - too hot, too many foreigners and you can never get a decent pint of beer - and I live on the coast in the SW so have everything on my doorstep. This is a great stock to own in both the good and the bad times, and has come a long way from its 240p flotation price way back in Dec '89. If only all of my holdings showed 800% growth and paid such a good div. ATB.

Not sure I would last the drive into town and the walk to Thorntons for my ice cream in this weather! Have a rather yummy local producer - Hockings - who drives around our way on a Saturday and always carries 2 and 4 litre tubs so we can stock up our freezer with a variety of flavours. Don't like Sains mint imperials as they're too hard for my fragile aging nashers, much prefer the Tesco ones that crumble easily once you have sucked the outer coating. Must be a Scottish thing buying pressies for all and sundry, down here bus drivers just get sworn at - and think themselves lucky!! No-one gave pressies to teachers when I was at school, and when our two were at school it used to get silly with certain parents getting all showy about how much money they had spent. Any leftover mint you can simply freeze for later, or chop and add a little water to make a paste and then freeze in ice cube trays for future use.

Surprised you think their 123 account is "poor value for money" as they pay 3% up to £20k and cashback on many household DD's. I use it for my instant access money and earn £40 interest a month and £9-£10 a month cashback on my Council Tax and a range of utility bills. As their rates are pretty much unbeatable without tying up your money for years, am thinking of opening a 2nd 123 account when I need to find a home for some money that is maturing from a 5yr account in a couple of months. I also have a DD in place to pay off the Credit Card balance in full each month so I don't have to worry about missing a payment. You could have easily set up a payment from your 123 account to your Credit Card, then just paid any amount you wanted online as easily as paying any other bill or person. ATB.

Think it may take more than a couple of years to reach £413 - that would make my £2k stake worth £317,597!!! 413p may be possible though. ATB.

Is this some kind of record?? Easter Eggs in July!!! Tend to go off choccy this time of year when it's so warm as it melts in the wrapper, or goes too hard if kept in a fridge. So munch my way through bags of Sains Mint Imperials in the summer months - also good for my indigestion. So wish I'd have been brave enough to follow you in here when it was languishing around 10p. Still have some of my VOD/NZ cash lying around to be reinvested if you have any tips. Used some to buy into SAGA and TSB, and have today used a chunk to top up in BNC as they offer a 10%+ div, and had a little punt in PTV for the thrill of a penny share......only to see it going down!!

Have just used £2k from my VOD/VZ money to top up here on the dip, so apologies to all if it now falls further - which often happens when I buy a share!! ATB.

They only sold shares to cover the tax liabilities of the "exercise of awards in the Performance Share Plan (PSP) and in the Matching Share Award Plan (MSAP), both of which related to the performance period 1 April 2011 to 31 March 2014. The awards were exercised by the participants (at nil cost) on 7 July 2014, following the achievement of performance criteria as determined by the company's Remuneration Committee As can be seen by the RNS's of 30/6 and 8/7 all board members increased their personal holdings after these awards even allowing for the sales made to cover their tax liabilities. In my limited dealings with X-O I have found them to be OK. Use them mainly for IPO's and the occasional trade, don't have access to any other prices but have found them cheaper to buy than the prices quoted here on LSE - which I realise are delayed. ATB.

The only other cost you have to factor in with IWeb is their £25 one-off joining fee, though if you make enough trades this will quickly be absorbed. I use X-O which charges £5.95 a trade but I am a very infrequent trader. ATB.

Wow - how many did you apply for? With 400 shares you are only down £29, if you had wanted 4000 you would only be down £290 - not a lot in the grand scheme of things. It could be worse you could hold BLINKX - feel sorry for those investors today especially those that bought near the top 6 months ago. You're a little more generous towards shorters than I am, I put them in with drug dealers and loan sharks - happy to make a buck from the misery of others. ATB.

NEX has been awarded a fifteen-year contract to run rail services in a part of south eastern England to incumbent operator National Express . Under the terms of the deal, rail and coach group National Express will continue to operate the Essex Thameside contract, run under the name c2c, until 2029 and invest 160 million pounds ($272 million) to add new train services and upgrade station facilities.
