In reality the price of Lamprell (like many other stocks) started falling on the day after Obama's re-election (and after a good few days rising) due to main indices drops with concerns over the fiscal cliff issue. Wall street made a modest late comeback on friday after certain better then expected key economic indicators. That would explain the price movement this week and can be seen correlating directionally with intraday ftse movement & US pre-market indicators. Then again people can always buy into the old MM manipulation conspiracy theory often dragged out of the closet on these forums by those inclined to use such 'investment indicators' ;) Clarity on the company specific issues will most likely provide an impetus for an upward price movement againsta backdrop of progress on resolution for the fiscal cliff / euro concern issues & positive statements on company prospects going forward (as so often mentioned previously & indicated in the last trading statement). do your own independent research as always

I topped up this morning in line with my strategy for an extended hold towards recovery back up towards previous higher price levels on clraity that the next RNS should provide. gla with your own investment strategy.

Im not prepared to draw any specific conclusions that I'd post apart from noting the confidence of the 2 largest trades for Buys of £77K & £78.25K ,before news & within the market conditions already mentioned. dyor & make your own conclusions based on your own investment criteria.

thats obviously with the confidence of having a good core holding to benefit from any strong upward movement re: positive statements from the company and/or positive movement on the indices.

I'll think we should get some positive statements re: the core strength of the company going foraward beyond this year which will likely impact the price upwards after the last trading statement - lets see. One thing we both agree on is adding to holding levels within the trading range although I'll do it 'IF' the price touches 73p with ftse finishing down today & US markets also in the red although much less then yesterdays drop. atb

I think that points been discussed extensively on this forum with a view towards strong buying on clarity that the next update should provide AND reiteration of the company prospects going forward. My position has always been to stay invested for a sharp move upwards on an expected update on losses (considering the major drops thats already occured off the unexpected update on the 3rd) & have a smaller fund at hand to capitalise on any slippages during the interim if they occur. The upside move here & potentail for a dividend stream thru future earnings that BigMak refered to makes this a no brainer for me - especially considering the transparency thats now being instigated & statements towards core business strength in line with that policy. atb

the markets expecting the 'Barack Bounce' in the main indices apparently - lets see if that happens with US futures also showing a higher open gla

This is all about the direction of the markets atm with yesterdays selloff affecting most stocks in some shape or form. However, the global sell off could see a rebound today with an ECB meeting later in the day, the austerity vote passed in greece (budget needs to be passed on sunday) & Ftse futures already indicating a higher open this morning as people look towards buying opportunities. The upside is much, much larger then any downside slippage by a few pennies to its lower trading range price imho especially given the clarity & transparency to be provided which investors are looking for. gla

so it was a BUY & all factored in now anyway - not surprising that expected earnings for 2013 should reflect a much higher SP then the heavily discounted price at present & with a solid base going forward beyond the current financial year. Markets having a bit of a sell off after a higher open all round & US pre market indicating a higher open this morning followede by a migration of funds into US treasuries. A top down macro focus is on resolution for the fiscal cliff issue though a bottom up, stock specific perspective should see us make up some of that discounted price on LAM with near term newsflow imho

Yes, a bit ambiguous but a strong underlying sentiment asserting itself on the stock. US stocks up last night (Dow 1.02% Nasdaq 0.4% S&P 0.79%) with the market looking towards certainty & a continuation of bernanke's fiscal stimulus - assuming Obama won which looked more likely towards market close & turned out to be the case Should be a strong follow on push on the ftse today atb

More then happy to be corrected but im reading it as 10,054,900 BEFORE the triggering action & 12,968,030 AFTER http://www.investegate.co.uk/lamprell-plc-(lam)/rns/holding(s)-in-company/201211060853254176Q/ however, Legg Mason inc are listed as having a circa 6% holding as of 2nd aug 2012, with a below 5% threshold crossed so u might be right. I expect John Kennedy to be as transparent as possible given the issues that have been experienced in the past & with a view to re-establishing investor confidence in the company have a good weekend all

"all the balls are in the air and you have no idea where they are going to land" The company do which probbably underpins the confidence in there statements regarding the prospects going forward, ability to fund contracts & sevice debt. There definately more aware then opinions on any bulletin board atb
