RE: Netflix21 Jan 2022 15:49
Netflix dropping 20% Im sure has more reasons for its drops then just cinemas not showing their movies.
In my opinion they attract different audiences, bit like a fancy restaurant and tesco , both sell food but ones for a night in others for a night out.
Of course the straight to streaming films have been a major flop, that of course impacts us and with luck in the future there won't be this hassle again and all movies will go straight to cinema first before hitting the streaming sites. I'm sure they won't want further actors/ress suing them for loss of earnings etc
I have said countless times mooky mentioning netflix and thier shows in cinemas will be a great great move , simply because some of netflix content is superb and will fill the empty gaps we have nicely in our callender , what's also apparent is with the history mooky and netflix have it wouldn't surprise me if talks have already started , just the fact mooky mentioned them was a surprise givin the hostile past they have, and for me was exciting to hear him talk of them.
Personally i think streaming like cinema is here to stay and their is a market for both.
I have netflix , I also have amazon , however if a good movie comes out I want to watch I will head to Cinema first to watch it rather then wait for it to stream or buy on dvd.
They just need to find a way to work together and maximise the cash stream
My opinion only of course
