Heightened risk or not - the Gold price could well hedge an awful lot of that if it keeps going, I can almost smell it now ...

In short - the market had the opp to try and bury her into deep(er) single digits but isn't having it and is going the other way instead, hence the volume and lofty blue day - I doubt she'll break 10p from here now.

Anyway - the latest BS non-farms "jobs" number at 13:30 - eyes down.

I did pick up some HOC mate (which has always been a 9-bob note) but that's not my only gold miner play - I have them all over the board - I merely point out how the risk premium would appear to be swinging severely in/around Niger.

It's not the usual internally caused strife that's the issue with North/Africa right now though - it's caught up in the US vs Russia/China stuff - all obviously long-planned and likely to send Gold soaring but there is undeniable counterparty risk with miners in/around Niger.

Sometimes it's the news you've already had that breaks the dam.

I don't doubt the MDA will rocket this but there are so many other ducks lining up in the macro that sometimes the money just turns up when you least expect it if you're only concentrating on the company news alone.

There is a bigger picture here and it's that bigger picture that'll give us the majority of our win.

I think it may be different this time around - I'm not one to spread baseless FUD of course but you'd have to be a bit tone deaf/blind to not see what appears to be building in Africa and where it could lead to - the next Ukraine proxy war.

I've switched a big chunk of my miners money from Africa to South America this week.

Not sure she'll get there but at least she's not in Africa so she's got that going for her ...

Just goes to show how twitchy she is right now - lots of eyes, and money, on this ...
