i dont think we can compare the BP scenario to JRS as the treatment towards companies leaving russia from unfriendly countries is different to companies that are not leaving, also this is an investment vehicle which will most likely be treated within the finacial system rules with the dividend being held somewhere until JRS can trade the shares once more, if this wasnt the case there would be a notification from JRS, surley we would be informed if the dividends were to be confiscated
throwing out a theory of mine,
so the msci funds are selling off as we drop out msci as we lead up to the 31st but are these shares being bought up by ii, or other vehicles of said funds who dont want to be out of this share or a bit of both ?
would that leave the micro cap funds to buy in after the 31st of May ? thus causing a short squeeze, or is it the micro cap funds buying these now as part of a swap over before the 31st, im thinking they cant buy until after the 31st which could mean they buy in over the next week or so thus causing a bit of a short squeeze, that would be fine by me not being a shorter, Oh dear !
Metom talking nonsense, HAND ON FACE EMOJI
they probably think its going to drop up to the 31st when we drop into the microcap from msci, some midcap funds will sell but i dont think they hold very much percentage wise its minimal, the shorters might get something out of it on no news but its a huge risk they are taking for not much gain and if any significant news comes they will fry, what a shame that would be, fingers crossed for them, NOT!!

if a deal was finalised yesterday and a few companies are involved then it may take some time to prepare a big announcement under rule 15 and liaise with the nomad and the other companies on the best timings on the release of the news, in that respect there could be a positive slant to the delay in getting the news we hope for.
GLA
is there a way to check announcements in the far east if anyone buying EUA assets gets mentioned in the early hours
Scotty, theres a war on, best to stay calm in these no news periods, looks like your having a bit of a meltdown, perhaps investing is not for you
there will be more to this but short version is,
if the deal agreement is to secure supplies for years via offtakes, if it is involving say nn, eua, rosgeo and others with many car companies in china, japan etc plus plenty other potential offtake customers for the metals involved, surley every company and banks involved will want jorc as that is the standard required for finance etc etc etc
rare groove taking over from kira as chief wind up merchant, how sad are you coming on here to tell us you sold at 38p, as if we care what you did or didnt do, jeez
note all the stupid kira posts from the weekend have been removed, what a complete crock they were, hopefully we wont have to read anymore of that garbage,

Kerrymerry you are very negative on this,
Critical Metals are not sanctioned, companies are still doing business in Russia and deals
https://www.intellinews.com/metals-conspicuously-absent-from-expanded-western-sanctions-lists-238167/
The UK and EU both announced a new round of sanctions on Tuesday, March 15 in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Between them, the UK, US and EU have sanctioned Russia’s financial institutions, its political elite, oligarchs, trade, air travel and major companies. But one specific industry has remained largely unscathed: metals.
Russian metals are notoriously difficult to sanction, because they are used in everything from smartphones to aeroplanes. Russia provides a tenth of the world’s copper and aluminium, a fifth of battery-grade nickel, and over 40% of the world’s palladium. As such, Russian metals are deeply embedded in global markets, as reported by bne IntelliNews.
ctc is trying very hard is he not, jeez, its very boring now, bla bla bla
thanks RiseAbove, i wonder exactly what they mean by banning all new investments in Russia, it would be good to get the full details on that one, we will just have to wait i suppose
the new sanction to ban all new investments in Russia i assume will be the reason all the Russia stocks are dropping today, that sanction cant be good for any of them or us, im struggling to find full details on it, if anyone knows the details then please share, i think the details are coming later today on what the implications will be from that.

Good work LB,
i looked at this earlier and came to around the same conclusions, agreed it is no fire sale, it seems a very fair deal for both parties considering the numbers and LOM together with the fact that Kinross are leaving Russia behind, i think the insentive will be the continuation of jobs and projects, it seems the Russians are being sensible with this scenario
And the Oscar goes to ?
Any advice from anyone would be handy ?
If i want to just hold my shares i have with HL, would i just do nothing and sit tight ?
good one, lets ban something we never get in our wharehouse anyway, OMG
"Neither Nornickel nor Rusal send any of their metal to UK warehouses," an industry source said.
Britain has two approved locations for LME warehouses, in Hull and Liverpool, but they have very little metal. None of the four metals being suspended are currently being stored in British LME warehouses, LME data shows.

Sanctions lifted on withdraw looks on the cards
https://www.reuters.com/world/uk/uk-says-russian-sanctions-could-be-lifted-with-ukraine-withdrawal-report-2022-03-26/
wonder if there is a path for them to EU membership if most sanctions are lifted
