If it goes it would certainly be in the big news of the week, after that yesterday's news. Time for it to lick it's wounds, keep out of the limelight and start to make a slow recovery back to where it should be. Also maybe the catalyst to fire Conn early they don't really need him he has ****ed enough up don't let him near anything else. If they can get that marketing God things will turn. Hope Ofgem and the like are looking at this and thinking maybe it is an unfair playing field between the big six and the small bedroom suppliers. If and God forbid it happens Centrica go bust then who would they farm these millions of customers to, how many pension funds would be hit with revaluations, how big a hit on the Pension protection fund, enormous ramifications. Of course looking very tasty for a cheeky buy out, four billion to buy, sell Nuclear, sell Spirit, debt gone, maybe a 200 mill pension payment. Maybe just maybe a takeover war, final bid price 170 a share.

Well I don't know anything about that but as at this morning only MKS have a lower market cap than CNA so looks like everyone gets what they wanted and it goes out of the FTSE 100 on the next round of changes. It's not always a bad thing EasyJet and Hilka now back up to good SP prices. Anyway the doommongers will be happy. May be the catalyst for this crap BoD to act quickly and get rid of the Conn man early he can't do any more damage, surely they are not even letting him order paper clips now.

Good morning Toff can you tell me which broker/mm team are shafting Centrica down to 50p I don't have access to level 2. Have you informed Centrica of your fears and theory and named this Broker or brokers. Tel me the name and I will mail Centrica and the FCA as well. Please be careful of these 50p predictions remember some people may take them as gospel and sell on, none of us on here have the knowledge or the authority to give financial advice. We can all give our thoughts but please be careful. I prefer to say wait it out, sentiment is a big player in shares in fact read HSBC report the other week saying that it will take a while for Centrica to regain the trust of the advisers. A lot depends on who they bring in if they get a true marketing guru/magician this SP could turn very very quickly. GLA

Now more CNA kicking with the regulator announcing another reduction in tariffs by £75 because of lower gas prices. Bet that's not been priced in either. Ridiculous the batterinG the utilities are getting. What happened about Conn taking the regulator to court about the price cap or was that just tosh.

Okay Toff follow your reasoning to a point. However surely the Companies are wise to this by now and watch out for these trends. Who decides which Brokers have a right to make a Market in a Companies share, surely the Company has a big say in it and can evict MMs playing this game. Regarding shorting of the two biggest short positions in CNA BlackRock have a position yet they own nearly 7% of CNA, so what is the point of them shorting for a short term gain whilst it's devaluing their large holding, just doesn't fit my brain.
I come back to the point at what point do these MM/Brokers decide that's enough milking and let the company grow again, in the case of CNA I hope it's pigging soon.

Well it's lost me. We sell as a team 2 mill shares overnight at 70p ( who have we sold them to? ). Then the morning comes and we drop the price to 68p so we buy them back. We pay stamp duty so we make About 48 thousand shares worth £34k at 70p. Then you say we do it all again?. Is that right or am I being stupid.

ToffAppleton1 good luck with your complaint to the FCA but to be honest I doubt they will do a damn thing about it. Shorting to me should be made illegal full stop I believe it is illegal in other parts of Europe. People will say it's an open market and should be left alone, it is not though .the serious II that short have masses of money, know when to strike and keep it up. People should also consider the jobs cost a distressed company being shorted gets panicked and begins to slash to turn things round, usually starting with the ordinary day to day workers. There has to come a time when they have taken it as far as they wish then leave the Company alone hopefully to recover. The thing I don't understand is why the other Institutions and the Pension companies allow shorting to happen why don't they support their own investment, once they see the short happening let it go so far buy shares at lower prices and shoot that SP back up hopefully burning the sorters at the same time. Simplistic yes but would love to see it happen. As far as CNA goes I do think their is a shorting element at play here but there is also an incompetent pillock at the top who should be fired right now after the drop below 70p absolutely shocking he is still there.

Hello Helx personally I think once they have their new CEO picked they will pay Conn up and get rid as soon as they can. To me it's disappointing though that Centrica have cut the Divi and getting rid of Conn all of which the analysts etc wanted and they have let the SP continue to drift, what else can Centrica do. Certainly we are also suffering with the world economy as well at the moment. Centrica are saying things will pick up in the second half and this trend will continue into 2020 so prepared to wait and hope they don't miss those targets. However Conn going early would be a big fillip to the SP, here's hoping.

Perhaps he was fighting a losing battle against Super Col and has had to wait for the others to get wise and get rid. Hopefully he is free to go now and give him a bit if time to get it all going again to his tune.

Schedule that would be a great solution just pay AST back the money they have spent progressing it all, everybody walks away happy. My one problem being then is that this board has circa 50 million in it pockets, what do we have as PIs , more promises of future gas flares many years down the line. Hello Stockdale According to virtually everybody the Divi had to be cut, or even halted. Now its been done we need to see what the Brokers make of it and hopefully they have got what they have asked for albeit with a delay to getting rid of Conn, I don't believe they would like to see the Divi tinkered with mid term, it has to depend on yearly results and cash flow from now on. Think we are in a little bit of a lull now waiting for them to digest the results and guidance and make their recommendations. If they are not positive after the actions taken then I cant see what Centrica can do but just plow on with a new person leading the way. If they are positive then we should see the SP and confidence in Centrica begin to rise again, similar to Vodafone but the Divi must be linked to performances from now on.
