SP performance since then is not dissimilar to other miners. There's was a decline of interest in the sector as a whole. Some have done better than others but they're all down.

Yikes, that table makes MARA's mCap look even more wildly overvalued than I thought. But I'm not sure Feb-Mar will be a wholly representative sample frame for the overall comparisons, due to the impact on some miners of adverse weather and maintenance issues. Will be very interesting to watch how the table changes with new installations and developments

Flow is correct that this is how the market views risk in the absence of more concrete proposals. The correction will come when we get to that point, general assurance without specifying the mechanism won't be enough. ARB hasn't done worse than any other miner recently (compared to say MARA, which has bombed) but the damage was done before that with the failure of the IPO to deliver on market expectation (or the naivety of the board in getting themselves shafted by their banks).

On the plus side, considerably undervalued and looks like a good buy (while MARA is looking increasingly over-valued based on failure to deliver to ambitious plan... but the market seems to like ambitious plans even if not delivered!)

Yes, and of course there's also a question about whether to apply a capital gain or an income gain approach but every territory will have it's own tax regulations (e.g. on trading profits or staking income). The bigger picture though is about the acceleration of institutional and mass adoption. That's what will drive demand and supply squeeze. At the moment, with more than 90% of BTC already mined, there are only about 100 million BTC owners among more than 6 billion people in the world, 'early days' doesn't come close!

Miners need to be more explicit about their business strategies in relation to use of hodl. The risks for shareholders are too great unless the basis for their expected ROI is clear. Otherwise the market assumes the model is just repeated dilution to fund operating costs.

Yes, there are huge benefits to market expansion through institutional adoption of crypto as a legitimate regulated asset class in an increasing number of countries. Why would income from crypto be treated any differently to income from other sources?

The key business metric is whether companies hit their published targets or not. For example, in the last round of results only Argo managed this, while the likes of MARA failed by a country mile (although their SP went up a mile on the announcement of the ambition, so I doubt shareholders complained). Core are doing the same.
