Good work but need to remain prudent, it's a Letter of Intent, not a contract. We've been here before, it's great news but it's not in the bag yet. Fingers crossed

In the vulnerable position of a small operator in a large shark pool, I really don't want to hear any leaks about rig contractors until a contract is signed, so I agree with the company leadership position. It's a business not a means to manage the anxiety levels of impatient retail share traders.

Meaning it was undersubscribed, so presumably no-one has any complaint about getting as many as they wanted.

Yes, on paper, but in practice securing a suitable and affordable rig may well depend on the provider being able to make use of it twice in quick succession in the same geographical location. So yes, it may well be contingent to signing a priced deal in practice (regather than just an MoU).

it’s a tough business and there are some big fish out there who may have interest in seeing HE1 wait until they run out of cash and sell up their licences. Sourcing a water well rig in East Africa is one thing for a small company, competing in a shark pool for an imported O&G rig is another.

That’s pretty much how I read it, between the lines, actively engaged in contract negotiations with rig provider(s) to identify a rig that is suitable but affordable. Not identified one yet, probably because it’s not affordable hence the agreement with Noble to make the prospect more attractive to the provider.

Let’s hope so, but I see no concrete basis for this optimism yet. I rather hope they don’t announce which rig they’re after this time until it’s signed up, but I do think they’d say if they had identified one. What’s your evidence for saying ten days?

I’m still skeptical about what that means. I see no evidence they have yet identified a suitable rig, although I don’t doubt they are pursuing negotiations to get one.

I guess you could interpret the wording either way, but it would surely say ‘we have identified a suitable rig and are actively negotiating a contract’ if that were the case?

Where are you reading this? The CEO statement says no such thing and confirms that the priority is to identify a suitable rig (i.e. they haven’t identified one yet, let alone negotiating a contract).
