RE: The Seller28 Sep 2022 18:41
Basically the seller has placed the order with the broker, like an empty bucket. As the buys appear it fills that bucket until the order is filled. For instance the 3M that has just popped up was started yesterday 9am and as the buys have been coming through it's filled that particular "Bucket" and then shown to us as the trade completed. This is the reason the share price moves very little or in fact moves negatively as the MM's will create the market for buyers to roll in.
Obviously as less and less buckets are to be filled, we sort of trade sideways within a range, such as today, (more-or-less), as the market is wary of the seller, and buys roll in more slowly. Naturally as and when there are no buckets to fill, (as in large block orders, 3M, 5M 10M.. and so on), the sp moves up as there's less selling, and the only ones selling are those doing small trades at their independent discretion and not lumped with broker as such, (exceptions being placed orders.. again by individual entities).
Liquidity is also a factor, and in EOG there's considerable amount of liquidity, especially due to seller.
Someone may feel to correct me on certain aspects of the trading 'ethics', please feel free to do so!.. As it just benefits us all. Life's one big learning curve lol
Anyway... Charts show a change of wind direction next few days as the selling has substantially tailed off, and as we're only into one week of the four week appraisal drill.. slowly investors will move back in as they're also watching selling action and looking for the opportune moment to do so. This is when things get interesting as buyers move in to get in low and this in-turn has the cascading effect of more buying than selling and a sp reversal.
Good luck all invested.
