Well I was wrong when I thought that results from Royal would have a positive effect on the SP, wrong again when I thought interest rate cut in US would have a positive effect on SP. Maybe I’ll be right about the US/China trade deal having a positive effect on SP. Unfortunately because of the comments after the rate cut we will lose the gains from yesterday.

Cruise lines already changed itineraries from east Caribbean to other destinations. It’s all due to RCL results not being received well.

I think you are right Linda, Royal are now down 10% pre market. Quite ridiculous.

Excellent results from Royal Caribbean and their share price is down 6% pre market. Guess we will drop too. No rhyme or reason to it.

The market approves of q3 results, SP up in HK.

We all know the vagueries of the carnival share price and that there often seems no reason for any rise or fall. Asian markets rose today and US are pretty much at all time highs so there is plenty of confidence that a trade deal will be done. Royal report tomorrow, should be an interest rate cut in US on Wednesday and maybe trade deal sorted on Thursday. Many positives so fingers crossed.

Bot, it might be an ouch for us this morning but hopefully we have quite a bit of good news this week in the form of interest rate cut, US China trade deal and RCL results which could lift us back towards £21. US government shutdown also not seeming to hurt markets. Have a great cruise and may 32 red be kind to you.

Interesting article YR. With so much money spent in the local economy by the cruise industry I am sure it will be resolved, compulsory purchase of Fisher Island was even mentioned.

I’ve got HSBA which has been great except for the last week, down nearly £1 since last Thursday. Hope you are correct on your prediction for this year and next. I am well ahead on Carnival but it always drops way more than you feel it should.

Can’t find any positives today. FTSE down, all US futures down, exchange rate up to 1.35. Oil is down is only positive.

Jerome Powell is due to speak later this afternoon regarding monetary policy for the rest of the year. Last time he spoke about interest rate cuts at the end of August our share price rose considerably. We could see the same later today.

HSBA to buy Hang Seng bank. SP down 6% in HK, buybacks to be paused. Guess we will be back below £10 when London opens. 😞 Hopefully SP will get back over £10 quickly.

Finally a bit of a leg up today. At 7pm UK time the minutes of the last Fed meeting are released and it may indicate policy for the remainder of this year. If interest rates are expected to fall then it helps our mountain of debt. Good luck all for the future.
