All indexes in US taking a dump, oil is up. Iran may be in the news again. Steady would be nice but not looking likely.

I was thinking what else could push us higher apart from higher demand obviously. Came up with lower oil price, exchange rate back down to about 1.34. Going ex div next week might see buyers for the dividend even though it’s very low. We also have Norwegian reporting at the end of February. If they come in above expectations we might rise again as we did when Royal reported. Anyone got any other thoughts?

It was a brilliant day but to put it into perspective we are only up about 2.5% for the year so far, so let’s hope we have a few more days like today in the near future and get to Bot’s £30 in 2026. GLA.

Craziest share ever. Falls 90p for no obvious reason and then goes back up by over £1.30 for no obvious reason. It acts like crypto at times. Still, I’m not complaining.

Bitcoin and precious metals down big time over the weekend. Will this spread to Wall Street? If it does we could be in for a bad day. At least dollar is a little stronger.

Moneymaker, I know it’s mad.If I hadn’t made such a good load of money out of this share I would call it dog sh*t.

Good results from Royal

I am with AJ Bell, don’t have a SIPP but have a stocks and shares ISA. It has a maximum charge of £3.50 a month which is £42 per annum. Dealing charges are £5 per trade which is reduced depending on how many trades per month.

Exchange rate is hurting SP on top of the pullback of the last few weeks. It is now almost $1.38 to the £ which is great if you are buying dollars but not so good for the SP. Royal results on Thursday and hopefully they will have strong results which will help all cruise stocks.

An odd day which saw virtually everything red but we somehow closed up during London hours. Unfortunately during US trading we had a big drop and we will open tomorrow around 40p down. We have now given up most of the gains we had after results day on the 19th December. For context Norwegian cruise line was down around 6% today.

Looks like it’s going to be a bad day today. Need this Greenland issue resolved.

All 3 major cruise lines down around 9-10% last week. We have Royal reporting on Monday 26th, maybe those results are not going to be as good as expected. If they do come in good and Royal rises I would expect us and Norwegian to rise a fair bit too. We also have the ongoing Greenland issue and the Iran situation could also be in focus again. Never a dull day holding Carnival shares.

Bhants, a lot of people have been in this share for quite a while and have made a pretty penny over the last few months. I guess people are now thinking let’s not be too greedy and are selling up. Simple supply and demand. It will rise again but who knows when.

Oil price up, uncertainty about Iran situation and S&P down nearly 1% on the day.
