What sort of offer would be reasonable??
Could it start a bidding war?
I sent an email congratulating Capital Access Group to avacta@capitalaccessgroup.co.uk and said how much I was looking forward to a more dynamic, proactive PR company ... I got a reply inviting me to a group meeting on the 2nd of February at 10.30 am with Alistair Smith (CEO) and Tony Gardiner (CFO). I think this meeting would be better than the Paul Smith, Fox News.
Paul Smith really gets up my goat (on my tits) as he keeps interrupting the interviewee. He is loud, brash and likes the sound of his own voice and gives little consideration as to what the person said to the extent that it appears he does not listen.
Only time will tell if it is an improvement.
I hope Alistair has some more exciting information to share...
It's like waiting for Santa. I am such a big kid.
I am looking forward to the New Improved Covid variant XX or whatever they want to call it where the LFT has to be updated to make sure that the test is accurate, sensitive and does not give false positives/negatives etc. This would be best described as moving the goalposts. If Avacta is able to develop a new LFTv2 for Omicron in a couple of weeks (they should have done it weeks ago earlier). You will then be very excited about having another LFTv3 for the Covid variant XX.
The media and the Government can get very excited about it. Provided your methodology is agile, nimble and quick to adapt to whatever comes our way, then you have every reason to be very positive with Avacta's technology... It will happen. Be patient. Unfortunately, new variants are more likely to be much milder; and so the appetite to throw money at the problem will be significantly less... Unless China has another one up its sleeve. Stranger things have happened.
IF Avacta does the above in the 2-3 weeks (or even 4-6 weeks) like that say they can, then that would be showing off to all the other LFTs and basically saying look what we can do .. this would be marvellous ..
I wait with bated breath .. though .. but it would be seriously impressive as it will kick all the other LFTs into touch.
I am very hopeful, but I have had so many letdowns, that I don't want to even think about it.
What will happen, will happen...
Is this an old report or recent report?
Dear Mr (*** Black Cat)
Further to our previous correspondence, thank you again for contacting me about the manufacture of lateral flow devices.
I am proud that, in building the largest diagnostic industry in UK history, 400 million tests have been completed since the start of the pandemic, playing a vital role in tackling the spread of Covid-19. NHS Test and Trace has drawn on expertise from across the public and private sectors and all contracts are awarded in line with procurement regulations and transparency guidelines. In addition to the main providers of NHS lateral flow tests for home use, SureScreen, a British manufacturer, has committed to supplying 20 million lateral flow tests and has previously been rolling out their tests in universities and other supervised settings..
SureScreen is hugely increasing its manufacturing capacity to produce more tests still. From zero at the beginning of the pandemic, 15 per cent of lateral flow tests in this country are being supplied in the UK, and we now have the largest single manufacturing plant for lateral flows in Europe.
All tests used in the national testing programme have undergone rigorous clinical evaluation and are a vital tool in helping to identify cases of Covid-19. The tests have been proven effective at detecting high viral loads and registering an appropriate positive result. This means they can identify people who are likely to be the most infectious. It is so important that we have a strong validation system, with robust enforcement, to enable delivery of reliable, affordable and high-quality tests that will help keep us all safe.
I note your disappointment that we have not seen more testing kits manufactured in Britain receiving approval here in the UK. It is understandable that manufacturers question the Porton Down protocols and feel disappointed when they cannot get approval for their product. I know that ministerial colleagues hear those concerns, but the key point is that our validation processes are the most thorough in the world and we should stand by them. I know that the Government works with firms to support them to meet standards.
Yours sincerely,
Crispin Blunt

Sujood,
Christmas is coming too .. :-)
The paper is dated is 16 Nov 2021 .. and so this seems old news ... Nice looking paper though
It appears to have no rules. It is like the wild west. Valuation (SP) can fluctuate wildly on sentiment and false/fake news manufactured by rampers. There are deranpers shorter etc. Who aso disseminate falsehoods... it is like the wild west.
If the science is good as they say then this share will go far. Just be patient and prepare for a white knuckle ride of your life of ups and downs, but long term a big up.
RNSs are also intermittent and irregular. There are rules for the issuing of these but these do not seem to followed. I would describe the RNS rules as guidelines.
I arrived late. I heard some UK companies harmed, but not Avacta. Did Avacta get a mention?
Did the inappropriate Porton Down assessment get a mention?
Did the ridiculous extended Desktop review get a mention?
I admire his efforts.. but I don't think he had enough time to do it justice.. Or did miss something?
As I understand, this was the methodology for the preparation of dummy samples which were frozen and thawed just prior to testing the LFTs.
What you need to understand is that during the process of freeze-thaw, the forming of the ice crystals ripped open the pig cells and released all the nucleosides which significantly interfered with the antigen performance... It was usual (many years ago) to freeze samples. The Avacata test although very sensitive, would never in real life have to deal with frozen samples (unless the person was an Eskimo). Nobody in Porton Down or their scientific advisers (Prof. Tim Peto? at Oxford) would accept/understand why this would materially affect the test ... They should have used fresh spiked samples and completed the tests there and then on all LFTs at the same time without having to freeze-thaw. Report the results on ALL LFTs at the same time.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
There is no such thing as a live virus as it has to use a living cell (a host) to replicate. A virus can lie dormant and infect when it is placed adjacent to a living host. Porton Down used pretend samples which were spiked with virulent (ablevto infect) viruses. I believe the pretend smples were used was pig saliva (from an abattoir), spiked, frozen and then defrosted and used against a rangevof LFTs. If they did not freeze and thaw these dummy samples/standards, then Avacta's LFTs would have worked really well... Innova (Chinese) test was not subjected to the same test.

.
Point Biopharm have progressed to license payments..??
Should Avacta not issued a RNS on this news??
Its all very smokey. I can't see. I suspect some smoke and daggers going on?
