I believe all Debenhams stores currently turn a profit in the U.K., anyone confirm this ?
what's with the 5967 buys again, strikes me as a computerised close of shorts trying not to raise the price too much ?
"A company on the brink".... of what exactly ? Have the banks called in their loans ? Have suppliers deserted them and left stores half full? Have they issued a rights issue ? Is there an RNS confirming imminent administration ?..... No!
Go on..... get in there 😀👍
Morning Pokerchips - yes you would hope that in some towns Debenhams will clean up if they can ride this out. The four locations where Hof are closing (Newcastle, Nottingham, Essex and Norwich) Debenhams should really increase their trade. I have just bought a nice big winter duvet from Debenhams website, some stunning deals to be had on there!. For me this is all about debt control for Debenhams. Their 2019 winter range looks great nd website is clean and simple. I feel Debenhams should come out fighting much more than currently (which is "0" fight)!
So House of Fraser are now closing - Newcastle, Norwich, Lakeside (Essex) and Nottingham stores... All locations were a Debenhams is near by, Sad to see, but longer term this must help Debenhams ?
Mike Ashley and Odey can not push Debenhams into administration!.. impossible. The debt Debenhams has can however, but this remains a profitable company currently.
My guess is a lot of shorts closed over the last two days and manipulated the share price. I think the low has turned and will very slowly head to 10p.
Make that 17.4%😍
Google showing share price up 16% currently
I'm long with an average of 21p... I bought in again at 6p. Nothing has fundamentally changed in the last few weeks:
1. Most stores turning a profit
2. Great new ranges instore and the few I visited are packed
3. shorts are rapidly reducing
4. Director buy in
5. I see a decent Christmas and black Friday coming up
6. Potential disposal of the Danish Business
7. Nowhere near their debt limit cap
8. Managable debt repayment
I think it's certain Kermit the frog will launch an imminent take over bid... makes sense at this low price !
Debenhams Oxford Street was rammed today, and a good non ending queue of around 10 people lining up at the main tills.I am convinced their Christmas results will be very good this year :-)
Had a day off work today, so a bit of retail therapy.... Debenhams Oxford Street looks great and was very busy with people buying clothing and homeware. The new men’s ware is good, I liked the Mantaray and Racing Green lines. They now have a new small concession of Burtons clothing in store and the Patisserie Valerie cafe was full. The store seems to be doing really well but the customer service is lacking a bit for such a big store. Looking positive... I even bought a new coat :-) .... enjoy the fireworks all.
Philip Green - Debenhams = Cluthing at straws there... Sorry but I think there is almost 0 chance he would bid for Debenhams.
So internet shopping is killing off the high street... Yet Debenhams wrote:
"Delivered above-market digital growth of 12% supported by improved mobile and customer experience"....
Got to be a positive :-)
What is the overall net debt currently ? Thanks
Cutting the dividend is 100% the right thing for the board to do. Closing stores and down sizing is also a positive move in the current climate. Debenhams can turn this around, but it may require disposing of Magasin Du Nord in the process. With a £30 million dividend saving, and £35m profit, I believe debt can be managed.
Share price all over the place today... god knows where this is going this week ?
crowman... what are you in on Debenhams ? I understand if you would rather not say. I am in for £10k at 21p. What are other's in for ?
