If the majors confirm that the commercial potential of block 12 is equal or surpasses Shah Deniz, wouldn't FRR just be in the way? If not what role would or could FRR perform?

Based on other boards I believe to value an oil and gas exploration company the rule of thumb used is 1%-5% proven by Seismic, 10-20%% for proven but undeveloped asset...I believe that comes to more than £2bn.

Other sources have suggested that any major buying out a small exploration company is looking for a minimum 50-100 bagger in eventual profits...

How much of this is actually proven and how much has been determine from seismics etc?

I believe that Zaza responded to the question earlier this year regarding consolidation that he wasn't going to look at it until the 4th quarter...had he already been approached by the majors back then?

If the sp only increases by 1% a day over the next 2 years I might then be happy....

Thanks Mole. Something is definitely going on in the background...good or bad, not sure. The positive side in me tells me that a larger company is looking at the results for a potential buyout...the longer it takes the better as the sp continues to slide thus the average PI will accept a lesser price for the buyout.

I'm hoping that Zaza is wishing he could buy more at the moment. :-)

I think you are being a bit naïve Rodders...this is AIM and the MM's are nearly a law unto themselves. look at NTOG a week or so back....buys and sells were similar but it drifted down...why?

Maybe so Mole, but as a very frustrated deeply invested investor I would certainly welcome such news. Zaza has done a good job but we need a JV now. Lets get the gas out asap. The sp could get to 25 p in 10 years time going on our own...but 10p in 2 years time is better...who knows what will happen in 10 yrs time. If global warming becomes something that cannot be ignored by all the major countries then what do you think the requirement for hydrocarbons will be over next 10 yrs.

This has not bottomed yet....those that have sold in the last few weeks will come back in....but not yet obviously. On paper I've lost half my stack...but will buy more once the price has stabilised. Mid/Long term this is a no brainer IMHO
