In my opinion, the only involvement save would have with the marginal fields would be to produce 3rd party gas for an additional revenue stream. The current GSA’s or CPF doesn’t need more gas at the moment but as the demand increases as expected and the gas network infrastructure also builds, savannah will see any local commercial field as an opportunity to increase revenues at a very little cost to them.

Agreed, AK will focus on better producing assets available at the moment and not necessarily in Nigeria, but let’s not forget the Uquo gas field (OML13) was one of the 24 marginal fields awarded by the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) to indigenous operators as part of the Federal Government of Nigeria’s Marginal Field programme in the February 2003 and now it has a $4.3B revenue stream!

The last round of marginal fields was in 2003, pre accugas infrastructure. Just because the fields were marginal in the past doesn’t mean there not commercial now there is infrastructure in place. Where marginal oil fields have been found it’s also thought larger gas fields are also present but ignored in the past due to lack of infrastructure comercial pricing framework. I’m also expecting the PIB signed into law this year and that hopefully should address those issues, Nigeria’s FG are focussed on developing the country’s gas reserves.

Thanks zengas. The fields will be issued to indigenous companies, as per DPR this is step 8 of the process, announcement of winners. Step 9 is the announcement of partners, farm out agreements! Given savannah own significant infrastructure in the south east of Nigeria they are well placed in the area to partner.

Project 6 of the NNPC critical gas development projects is the 5 TCF Cluster development of OML 13 to support the expansion of Seven Energy Uquo Gas Plant to 400mmscf/d.

First priority, get rid of estimated bills with electricity meter roll out. Increased tariffs have recently led to record payment collection, now accurate billing should help again.

Presidential Power Initiative with Siemens phase 1, increase from 5GW to 7GW in 12-15 months. What’s good for Nigeria’s gas and power value chains is good for savannah energy. Supplying gas to 15% of 25gw in 5/6 years would be amazing for this company.

How can they afford to stall the PPI when the The Government loses over $1 billion annually due to technical and commercial inefficiencies along the electrification value chain!

It won’t be a quick fix but I can see savannah energy benefitting from the PPI massively, what an opportunity. No economy grows without reliable power generation and Nigeria know they need to diversify from oil and as one of the leading gas producers already savannah are well ahead of the game!

Contract signed last week for the journey to 25GW. Save should be supplying 15% of current 4.5GW this year but the country capacity should grow more than x5 in the next 5 years! As some Nigerians will want their palms greasing so Its no doubt this project will take longer than initial targets but Siemens are the right company to take this project forward and Buhari is making power generation a priority. In Egypt, Siemens installed & commissioned 14GW in 27 months....

Marginal field round to conclude prior to end of q1. Hopefully, PIB signed into law prior end of q2 imo. It’s needed now more than ever and should support gas production & gas infrastructure investment.
