Innova are entering the U.K. because there will too much demand for companies such as omega to absorb.

Nonetheless I think the DHSC are a rule to their own. I have added more today and have comfort that the government have been paying omega.

I am frustrated just like many others but we know it’s coming. Many have sold in frustration and fear.

Lord Bethell should have a duty of care considering his tweet referring to May timelines and as such should advise as to why things are taking longer (clearly this has affected the SP)

They are stringently ensuring everything is above board before progressing but what I would say is, I hope that Innova is not provided with an extension on EUA as that would continue to create an unfair playing field.

The UK has plans to keep testing people regularly going forward to avoid another lockdown and keep our cases down, especially when flu season comes round.
We are working with a number of United Kingdom suppliers of to increase production capability for lateral flow devices (LFDs). We expect to increase the proportion to majority of UK-produced self-test LFDs by the summer.

Hi Disciple13 - If you read a recent RNS - Omega are currently producing pouches and cassettes generating an income prior to the DHSC contract. There are zero concerns over the business from a financial stand point.

Firstly, I would like to say that I have been adding more at this SP - Nothing has changed since the £374m contract was announced. Sentiment has been shot to pieces over a tweet, along with the markets being a bloodbath.

VISITECT® Antigen has Launched and currently, due to the Government giving away free LFT's in the UK (Until June)- Omega need to focus on the International Market. This takes time to set up due to a few reasons such as:-

- Evaluation
- Licenses
- Legalities

I believe this will be hugely popular over time, but there are a few hurdles to deal with initially and whilst they have had months to progress with the following above as the test was Concluded, there are certain things which can only happen on the launch.

If you check out the Antigen test page you will see "test anywhere, anytime" so to me it would be of no surprise if Omega are going through the channels to obtain home use (self test) ... which is of huge significance. This would allow this test to mirror the current Innova test (which has 6 month emergency approval for self test). This, then relates to the reasoning for the Govt taking longer than is currently anticipated to stipulate which test will be chosen.

DHSC did stipulate the end of May and this timeline might still be hit to reveal a test, but I do feel as if the radio silence has enabled many to become nervous and sell out (which is understandable and unfair in my view as the DHSC could have at least provided some sort of update - Even retweet the first twitter message tagging Omega to show there is progression)

I think Boris focusing on "JAB JAB JAB" has also darkened sentiment, but in reality, testing will be a fundamental tool, used for years to help control the virus.

We cannot continue forever to keep borders closed and ultimately new unknown variants will month after month from Countries which are deemed as safe. Vaccinating a proportion of the UK will also not eradicate the virus, far from it and LFT's will be critical to opening up the economy (Look at all the recent pilot schemes eg Wembley hosting football fans once they have produced a LFT showing they are safe to enter).

Colin has had no control over the timescales that the DHSC have worked to and ultimately, it may be a case where he has been asked by the DHSC to press ahead with obtaining home use prior to the full evaluation being carried out on all tests they have been tasked to review.

You also need to remember that the Good Law Project are circling on the Government, which will force them to be whiter than white (double and triple checking everything is correct).

It's disheartening to see flights coming into the UK from India on a daily basis also, and with local lockdowns being enforced due to sheer and utter ignorance, a culmination of the above leads to spikes occurring all over.

THE DHSC is working towards a full UK Supply chain and Omega are part of it - I am happy to hold and await

Are Omega planning on releasing any more info regarding the ELISA antibody testing? Think it is a bit understated & would be interested to know details on potential lab throughput capacity or any other general info.

Considering we are well into the pandemic, why has the mhra still not provided approval after that final sample? Does nobody in their offices have the backbone to make a decision ? Can any updates be provided on the government choosing a test- again this is another drawn out process -Innova test only really showing acceptable levels of detection at high viral load where ppl are already symptomatic.

As soon as we have confirmation of what test the Dept Health has decided we will manufacture we will provide an update. I appreciate that this is a key decision for Omega and can assure you that as soon as its made we will be ready to respond.

Its unlikely innova would be looking to build a factory from scratch, I think anyone with a ounce of common sense would expect them to take and existing building and fill it with equipment, in much the same way as ODX have done for the DHSC contract.

It was your good self who stated they would build it, so no the common sense scenario goes out the window. So simply buy a factory and fill it with equipment mr computer? We are not battery farming chickens here mate, this is purpose built machinery which was imported over, and also specifically provided by the government which has taken several months to put together. So let’s say they do manage to do all this along with hire staff and “train them” which omega are currently doing just now. So we will scale it back to 2023.

Like most of you, I am just a normal guy trying to help and state my views.

Computer909 the loss was due to the impairment charge of £8.73m which related to stopping the ongoing development of the allergy range:-

The company has been gearing up to hit 2m per week and April is now upon us. This has been months in the making to hit this pinch point for the Company. It has to be agreed that the ability for Omega to change their business model in such a quick timeframe has been nothing short of exceptional.

The CD4 demand is aligned to the Finncap note which are orders from Pepfar etc coming in q2 for low/middle income countries - This will be another string to the bow of Omega with c65% margins.

As stated in the Q&A - Colin has been speaking to DHSC for a considerable number of months and no doubt, he has based his recruitment drive to tie in with the information received from these meetings (potential orders etc etc). Also his extensive research of supply/demand within the UK and beyond.

We will be in the fortunate position this month of having the ability to scale our antibody/antigen testing to suit the demand required over the next few months/years and please remember, the UK Government want a UK supply chain (Which Omega are at the heart of).

Omega have carried out all the hard work, won the contract, scaled up the staff/capability and now await the Government finalising the test which will be used.

To me, that looks quite an impressive position to be in and with Antigen/Antibody testing both being pivotal to opening up the Economy - we are in an extremely strong position as investors to enjoy the plethora of news which will unfold.

For a company to comfortably confirm that NO PLACING will happen and paying the wage bill of 250 staff (confirmed in March), it shows the confidence they have for the business going forward.
