I see that argument ....though $5 per TEU in TEMA could be well wide of the mark at say Lagos as it would be dependent on volume ,capex ,minimum wage , taxation, manpower requirements etc etc.

PF adopted that calculation for the ferry and Lungi .....we all know what the ferry was worth with the latter supposed to worth $150M up to the break clause ......on the basis of the inaccuracy of those two examples I don’t see any appetite for that type of projection .....if your highly probable scenario ends being the meat on the bones of say a 10 year term I wouldn’t be surprised to see the SP settling in the low 20s to late teens.........)o:

If your talking a 30p SP on announcement that would be a nice number ...as all are aware any rise will be dependent of the detail PF chooses to provide as the market will want something to hang its hat on ..... consensus seems to be we won’t see x $ PR TEU as it will show our hand to the competition.....(something I don’t personally buy as each location / contract across the world will have different characteristics ) if that is the case and we see X years contract worth “potential “ $X per year I expect the market to be underwhelmed .

PF must surely see his past financial projections have been woeful so any ambiguity will rightfully be viewed with scepticism....however he presents the deal it needs to be as transparent as possible if holders are to enjoy a well earned lift ..........|o:

Gibbo - The quote was misrepresented and out of context - it was in response to Tosh who mooted a potential £2m ish pa contract on the back of PFs “ several hundred thousand in revenues “ comment in the 19th Dec update ( I am mindful of IFRS15) as on the face of it several hundred thousand in revenues up to say end of Nov is not an attractive number - I threw the $3-4 out, to paraphrase ,that it chimed with Tosh’ £2m ish - No agenda or ulterior motives implied from any poster mentioned.

Thing is here that so many posters are blindsided with confirmation bias that any post that doesn’t fit the tub thumping narrative is seen as bashing the stock for ones trading agenda.

FWIW I don’t have SFU,s actual post , however I recall it being along the lines of the value being closer to a $3-4 guesstimate as opposed to a few day dreamers here who were pontificating of numbers north of £20 per TEU.

I wonder about the KSA thing .....If we were after anything like an MSC port contract I suspect we’d have a bigger hitter than Richard Conlan “ heading “ ( his words) the operation ........I note from his LinkedIn page he’s spent the last 4 years in some sort of English teaching / translator / training role .....|o:

Notes a modest 5% growth over 2019 so averaging circa 73k TEU’s per month - even with 6 months of new port numbers I was anticipating a larger increase .......

Contract agreed in principle 18th Sept with completion subject to MPS / GPHA reaching agreement on financials - New Tariffs agreed and implemented 2nd December suggests agreement ….. fail to see how this contract won’t get inked before the Jan update ....... |o:
