The market was obviously expecting more store closures. 566 is a lot of stores to remain open but I guess if they are also doing financing as per the company strategy then they have a chance of at least being relevant financially. I'd expect more closures but leases must be expensive to get out of so suspect with time more and more will close as leases come towards an end. The warm spring weather predicted for the UK is what's concerning in my view..

Anyone know what is the lowest price that MA has to offer by April 22nd, he has brought himself 28 days and has to either make an offer by April 22nd or decide not to.

Esecallum your bang on. The question is will he rescind about firing the board. I suspect he is going to have to give this serious consideration if he wants his current financing offer to be successful.

Looks to me that appointing Will Waggott is key to TC sorting out it's UK and tour operating business. He has vast experience and has obviously taken a fresh and hard look at the business and has made some immediate changes. While the loss of jobs isn't pleasant, the shutting of stores and job cuts is a necessary. It will make saving to the bottom line in the longer term and for a shareholder it's good to see that the business is taking action - long overdue in my opinion.

On a more serious note, the fact that there was no extreme weather (storm Emma). Called out as a loss of 1% with over 100 stores closed last year, one would hope the half year trading results for this year have a chance of being more positive when comparing like for like sales as their was no disruption this winter. If anything the weather was conducive to shopping. Certainly the Dublin city centre Debs store was full of shoppers enjoying the unseasonal weather last weekend.
