I had 13k invested here. It was a somewhat of a calculated punt as I'm selling my house at the momentum and would have had to pay the gains tax to the revenue however I can write this loss of against that bill and recover some of my losses. I'm not based in the UK and I don't know if others can write their loss off against their tax bill. It was a learning experience for me and genuinely feel very bad for those that lost investments here...

I'm no expert but it's in the RNS and it may mean NO pre-pack can happen until the provisional offer of a takeover is confirmed i.e. buying time until the 22nd.

There was a lot of buys at the end of trading today and I still view it that the RNS tomorrow will be extension to talks.. the RNS by SD today on making an offer may be covered by section 8 and prevent the pre-pack thus keeping the door open until the 22nd. However, on this particular occasion MA happens to be the Director of another large listed company, and therefore cannot afford to go around screwing holders. How will his own shareholders trust him after that. SPD will drop like a stone.

Hes also made it clear this is a PR exercise to repair and improve his reputation. He wants to be the hero, not a villain.

And he's publicly stated that he's had enough of shareholders being ignored and shafted. And is on a mission to right the wrong

Like I said earlier that's what the guardian article stated but then Reuters released the FT report which states an extension to the deadline or a rights issue which doesn't wipe out shareholders.

It's either an announcement on Monday regarding the rights issue or an extension to the deadline to allow talks continue. The creditors which include both European institutions and US-based hedge funds such as Silverpoint Capital are now calling the shots and they may well back MA as CEO provided he walks away from SD which they will want guarantees on so I reckon it will be an extension to allow talks to further proceed.

The guardian states.. The deal would be structured so that stores would continue to trade without affecting shoppers or suppliers but shareholders’ stakes would be rendered worthless..

What does that telegraph article say on the structure of the deal MA is proposing..

In talks. There was always going to be a quite period. MA having reached out to shareholders to support his CEO plan will have to negotiate with the board and both parties I believe will have to consider the shareholder seriously I suspect this is going to be a long play for shareholders.

Thank you Lawson. Agreed, it's all about the price charged, for example today's flight from Munich to Havana was approx 149e whereas next week the same flight will be over 400e. Good to see a 10% rise today and also looking forward to May's results. I reviewed the past two annual reports recently and it was interesting to see they closed over 100 stores in both 2017 and 2018 and made little noise about it. The latest KPI has shown even a larger increase in the number of booking via online over stores so expect many more stores to close over and above the recent announcements. The 100 store closures resulted in a net saving of approximately 2m due to costs associated with closing the store which had to be written off and declared on the books.

Yeah great RNS and under the current climate there's a big appetite by the investment funds to pick up these developments. Let's bring a bit of perspective to this. The market will price in the potential 5p bid over the next couple of days. Take a look at the RedHat shares. IBM are acquiring them at 190dollars which was announced a number of months back. The price jumped immediately to 170 dollars and has slowly been heading towards 190 as the filing has yet to go through the regulators. Point being that the market prices in the risk. This share will likely move North but stay below 5p until a confirmed bid is offered. People then need to decide to hold or sell out. GLA.
