Well allegedly Borris is attempting to suspend Parliament until 14th October to scupper remainders plans to take control of Government. At this stage in the game I have absolutely no idea how this will affect our SP I could argue it both ways but I do believe with their international operations that other banks will be more affected than are we. For the record I do not believe for a second that MTRO is going or will go bust but it lacks buyers as we are all fully/over invested here. Shorters and sentiment controls our SP either a bidder will appear or major investments by Big V and his mates required. The shorters still making huge profits but at some point they will exit to seek opportunities elsewhere before they jeopardise their gains at which point the SP will rocket up to a fair market price, Big V could help this happen soon, I certainly hope so.

Hands up guys I did not expect Barrick SP to rise so much so quickly with the obvious benefits to ACA (should be £2.70 based on ABX closing) - at this point I would have done better just by sitting tight. I believe I have taken stakes at good prices in other companies and I hope they still have the opportunity to grow but in total cash terms I would have been better here. For the record I am excluding MTRO from this and at least most of my stake in INDV as I did not use any of the funds I raised from selling ACA to invest in those companies, you may remember I had divested my other holdings a while ago to create a cash pile. You would of course be right to say that I have potentially squandered my advantage by going heavily into MTRO and at today’s SP you would be right, I am taking a longer term view and despite my current loss I remain confident that it will come good but as a snapshot today I am doing badly there. I don’t believe I have ever suggested that you would do badly by holding, I still believe a switch to Barrick directly would have been a better call but if we compare our two decisions to date then holding was a better call. Emotionally I prefer to have a bigger spread of companies and whilst I still have fairly substantial holdings in my recent purchases (to keep me interested) I have spread my risk and my opportunity the dichotomy is of course is that after all this time you have virtually no risk here. I agree Rep but an 80p up day is certainly on the cards. I never underestimate the skill of the shorters but all the momentum must be towards safe haven assets so I struggle to understand shorting PM’s lets hope they see the light soon and move on. That said the price of silver is more significant for us and if it continues towards $20 then we will get the lift anyway. ATB

I agree Scott the free cash flow is very attractive in such a small cap. A few more days like this and we will be getting closer to it’s real value.

Welcome dimi - lets hope you bring us some luck - sticking with this for now but currently the only disappointing gold share I own. I think the issue is that the Australian market is still depressed which has a very negative affect here. Glad you managed to take advantage of the low entry price. ATB

Silver managed to hold over $18 at UK close which is pretty significant for us - gold at $1540 all signs are good if theses levels hold overnight. The shorters should find easier prey elsewhere, they have a whole market/world to chose from and based on the fundamentals alone FRES will prove to be costly for them if they hold on.

I am fully on board with the potential that this product and share offer coffee. I just hope they don’t mess this up, I expect a surge past recent highs before Manchester and if it is as well received as we hope it will be then this could be massive. Strong buying today bodes well. ATB

Thanks Franky - I thought I had missed something. The other assets will certainly have value which is increasing with the PoG. You cannot go very wrong by holding your only decision is at the current price are there better opportunities within other gold stocks or do you switch to Barrick, forgo the 15p dividend but not be restricted on your growth. After holding for so long it was not an easy decision for me to make but I obviously decided to switch, only after the dust settles will we be able to judge if I made the right call but we will both be making money which is refreshing, the only call is who will make more.

Ok but I think you only get the dividend based on sale of the non core assets - I don’t think you get anything for the gold in the containers, am I wrong?

Nicely put Tiger - I share the sentiment but when gold was trading at $280 I don’t recall the world being a better place, we just manage to change one set of problems for another (a bit like ex wives) - it was ever so, I am reminded of the old adage-‘ this too shall pass’ so as you say onward and upward.

My point was Franky that you get more benefit from investing directly into Barrick than by sticking with ACA directly. Either way I can easily see Barrick at $21 and up, maybe even next week.

Super - SRB might be worth a look and if you want to go away from gold I would suggest you look at INDV not without risk but nothing compared to Thomas Cook. ATB with whatever you decide.

Well I wish you well Super - Barrick are at $19.20 which gives ACA £2.62 but to get your £4.35 Barrick would have to be $32.77; if you think that is likely, buy Barrick - goodness knows what the PoG would be but I would be very happy. ATB

Getting pretty fed up with this share now, my other gold stocks are doing great but this continues to buck the trend - did I just arrive too late and now suffer as others bank their profits and walk away or is there something I am missing? I may have to follow the trend soon and ditch this to profit elsewhere.

Best spread I have ever seen for this share - seems more grown up now.
