Absolutely, the balance sheet is much improved from last year and the business is generating plenty of cash, which is good. I'm just pointing out that £0.7m net debt doesn't mean the debt has been repaid.
The bank trial is interesting, but it's only one potential contract. What's really important is how much of the £80-odd million pipeline converts to contracts, and on what terms. That's what the market is waiting for some visibility on.

It's GROSS cash, and NET debt.
Gross cash £12.1m, net debt £0.7m.
Therefore gross debt £12.8m.

The BOD have no control over the share price "getting hammered" for no apparent reason. It's the market doing its thing. Honestly, how can you say "something else going on in the background which the market seems to be aware off but investors have no understanding of" with a straight face? Investors ARE the market.
The SP isn't getting hammered in any case, it's been more or less static for a while now, gently rising over time.
The people running the company need to focus, and be allowed to focus upon running the company. That will deliver value and demonstrable performance and improve the investment case, which will cause the SP to rise. Navel gazing and responding to PI's panicking over shadowy conspiracies achieves nothing, and is value destroying as management attention is diverted from where it should be. I'm pleased they are starting to give short shrift to PIs bombarding the CEO with emails.

It's really quite simple, the market is sceptical that the company can sustain the current revenue and profit generation. If it proves able to sustain it, the market will start to price the shares accordingly.
I'm sceptical of the longer term prospects, but I am in here for a smallish punt, as it could continue to do quite well in its niche, and even if it rerates to a "no growth, not a technology company stock" PE it will bag from here. Then price in the premium the market ascribes to "tech" and it bags a few more times. If the company can show consistent growth that will happen more quickly.
I'm happy with my smallish position here on that basis.

Your "calculations" based upon what exactly?
Value after an RTO is entirely dependant upon two things:
1. The value of the RTO target
2. How much equity the RTO target shareholders agree to give to GCG shareholders

You can't "calculate" a value. You can make numbers up, but anyone can do that.

Don't be silly. The owners of whatever business reverses into this will end up with the majority of the share capital. For sure existing shareholders of GCG will get some value, but if a £2bn company reverses into it the shareholders in GCG don't suddenly own the entirety of the £2bn company. Otherwise the shareholders of the RTO target would end up with nothing.
IF there is an RTO, the existing share capital will be massively diluted.

That rising default rate is a bit concerning though?

I've seen Dr C present in person at an industry even about 2 years ago, when the share price was 25p. He came across as cool and confident then too. First time I'd heard of ITM, looked them up when I got home, was tempted to invest, but... didn't ;(.

Hats off to holders here and those who saw the opportunity todays drops to 500 offered to build a position.

I confess I think the MCAP is a bit punchy now so will sit this one out, but well done to those holding.

Discount is because of COVID. I guess there's nervousness that rents will fall, tenants go bust etc. But it's encouraging the rent collection is following the same profile as last year, and the company keeps signing new tenants. Lots of tenants are with government, large companies and entities that are unlikely to suddenly decide to make all their staff work from home permanently.
On a macro level, I just don't believe home working will become the norm to the extent that people are assuming and the market is pricing in. For sure there will be more flexibility, but fundamentally teams work better when they share a physical space. Plus a s****y office is a perk at some employers - look at Google and Facebook building sin London for extreme examples. But many office buildings are more pleasant, plusher and a better working environment than peoples homes. People don't want to be at home 24/7.
I keep buying more of this, I think it's going to be a good recovery play.

I've come off the fence somewhat and dipped my toe in. If the trading update figures are better than market expectations it should climb, and then I'll reassess the long term, but would probably derisk on any significant rise as I am sceptical about the long term future.
If the trading update is a disappointment I'll sell and take the hit rather than stick around.
So I'm in for a short term trading opportunity and if there's more clarity over future prospects I might stick around.

I'm just discussing the business model, because I and apparently a number of others are attracted by the value proposition in the current SP, but are cautious due to the very concerns that may be the root cause of the current SP.
It's a discussion forum. If people think I have an "agenda" or other such nonsense that is spouted on these boards every day then don't engage.

The thing is, all those USPs are great for a world where remote meetings are conducted by telephone conference. That used to be a thing. I haven't been on a single telephone confrerence since April 2020. Everybody uses vide conferencing solutions such as Zoom, Teams, Google Meet etc. These are all low cost (or bundled with a 365 subscription), high quality and have all of the "USPs" other than telephone routing. But telephone routing wouldn't be of benefit anyway as the video call quality is more than adequate. It's also possible to record meetings, have automatic transcription etc none of which is possible with a telephone based solution.
I am also on the fence, but I really do think the world has moved on in the past 12 months. Anything to do with telephone conferencing is yesterdays child, and there's so much competition in the vidoeconference space - none of the competitors are difficult to use, and they all have similar functions. I think it's going to be really difficult for them to carve out a niche.

ALLNothing, indeed I was/am tempted to buy. But having thought further about it over the weekend I fundamentally don't see what the USP is for this business. I tend to base investment decisions on fundamentals rather than detailed technical analysis or reading the runes of an RNS. My view is that the world is rapidly moving away from bespoke offerings like LoopUp and to Teams etc.
Ian.B and yrabsmurruc, there's no need to get personal. This is a discussion forum and if you don't want to read then put me on mute or whatever. Personally I think considering other views is always good practice. All I will say is that the current PE multiple suggests the market is unconvinced by the potential here.
Of course the market and I may well have it wrong, and it's when the market has it wrong that opportunities for big profits arise. So my best wishes to all invested here, I may yet join you with a small stake. I will certainly keep my eye on things to see if the investment case becomes clearer.
