Perhaps testing new rope on fully 20m plus extension in deeper water to allow full drop not available at anchorage.

Test that it spoils correctly on the winch etc

Immediately after the first issue when the rope got entangled, a new spare was ordered.

So you are correct that this will have cut down the lead time by about 2 weeks.

Before anybody asks, I do not know when it will arrive but it's a matter of a few weeks (we've had 2 already) and not months, so it could well be ready by the next WW.

It's a sod that this happened but to take a positive out of the situation, at least we now know for sure that they can get the buoy hooked up in 2m swell and that it all fits nice and snug. Shame about the bloody rope though.

Its fact. I asked HUR but it makes sense if you think about it.

It means that the AM had a spare all along but I guess they didn't ever think they would need two of them.

The AM had a spare rope but it was used to replace the first rope that was damaged when it became tangled up with the winch.

A new one was ordered then.

As an aside to all of this, it’s worth noting that puffet on ADVFN is now a discredited source. No surprise there then.

He couldn’t resist getting an early post in at about 6am blaming the weather conditions.

It just goes to show that the likelihood of anybody on here knowing what’s going on aboard the AM is pretty much zero.

Very surprised to hear that a rope failed but the plus side is that hook up can be achieved in these conditions. On balance, a positive result this morning.

The main thing is that none of the crew were injured or worse.

I think BNB Is correct. Puffet is just guessing. His posts are never specific enough to demonstrate any inside knowledge and his post after the winch/rope failure was just plain inaccurate. I didn’t say it last time but was tempted but it’s all got out of hand now. Believe it at your peril.

Best advice is to just set your alarm for 7am on Monday and see if there is an RNS. Following the action on AIS and LSE or ADVFN minute by minute today will get you nowhere and you will be none the wiser

It's possible that they have turned on the engines to do the rotation test around the buoy. It will need to be completed as part of a series of tests after hooking the buoy up. Just a theory, not saying this is what's going on as I obviously don't know.

Then I refer you to paragraph 3 and the second part of paragraph 4 in my post.

From a purely selfish prospective, I'm quids in either way as I have a pretty substantial position here.
If we get a hostile TO bid and it goes through, it will just mean I probably see the cash a lot sooner. Either way, I'm not loosing any sleep over this aspect of HUR.

My personal opinion is that Kerogen are only representing Kerogen and I don't see HUR being sold on the cheap.

It's also worth bearing in mind that neither Ithaca or Faroe had a company like Kerogen holding a 22% share of the business. Kerogen can effectively block any cheap TO bids (if they so desire).

I'm pretty sure Kerogen know exactly what they have with HUR (Roy Kelly sits on the board) and I really can't see them selling out on the cheap.

Whenever this topic rears it's ugly head, I always think even in the unlikely event that HUR was sold for £1 a share, we would all still make a profit. Maybe not as much as you would like but a profit none the less.

However, I really can't see this happening because of the Kerogen holding (RT has referred to this scenario previously) and think it's just wasted time worrying about something that s unlikely to happen anyway.

It's 5 days away but here's the forecast. Friday is absolutely ideal. Starts Thursday evening and rune through to Saturday noon. Also, early next week is looking calm too. There are no gales developing on Friday. If this holds expect the AM to make a move by Wednesday.
