RE: Daily Mail on Shein - de minimus6 Feb 2025 08:38
So sad imagine posting on a share board where you have no investment at nearly 1.30 in the morning. Where you apparently aren't paid to do it and aren't shorting. It must be some life.
And then trying to maintain that a total change to a company's business model is a storm in a teacup.
Shein:s whole model is based on producing small batches in China, shipping them without paying taxes and ramping up the ones that sell well directly.
Now they are having to look at overseas production, where they won't get the same Chinese government tax breaks, opening warehouses and proper supply chains and using manufacturers who won't produce in the same way as the Chinese factories do.
If they IPO then they also have to produce proper ESG reporting, which once again costs money.
All of which means that they will have to increase price. Which is bad for them and good for the likes of Boo
