Iran blocks vessels from vital oil route, EU official says

Vessels have been receiving transmissions from Iran's Revolutionary Guards, warning "no ship is allowed to pass the Strait of Hormuz".

That's according to an official from the EU's naval mission Aspides told the Reuters news agency.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most crucial oil export routes, connecting the biggest Gulf oil producers, including Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq and the UAE, with the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea.

The official said Iran had not formally confirmed any such order, but Tehran has threatened to block the narrow waterway for several years in retaliation for any attack.

LONDON, Feb ​28 (Reuters) - ⁠Wizz Air ​is suspending all flights to ​and ‌from Israel, Dubai, ⁠Abu Dhabi and Amman ⁠with ​immediate effect until March 7, the airline ​said ‌on Saturday.

"The airline is closely monitoring developments and ​remains in ongoing contact ‌with local and international authorities, aviation safety ‌agencies, security authorities, and relevant governmental bodies," it ​said in a statement.

I completely agree. The only way to make money here is to sell near £7 and buy back around £6. The buyback has been going on for years now, and the impact on the share price has been minimal. Having an idiotic government and Parliament these days doesn’t help at all.
