Seen this before and it is worrying. RR have in past vastly reduced workforce in the interest of "Savings". However RR do not make baked bean cans. They make a cutting edge , high precision, expensive product and when staff leave the experience leaves with them. Years of training gone. In 18 months RR will probably be recruiting heavily as sales outpace delivery requests. Seen it before.
Come to the conclusion Brokers have made an artform of talking out of their b.ottoms.
What is there not to like about Lgen? -Top paying divi, twice covered, no skeletons in cupboard, Well managed, high yield and getting higher, repeat what is not to like? £4 would still look cheap IMV. What am I missing?
Landed at Gatwick last week then had to drive round the orbital carpark the M25. And what is it with all those joints in the road for miles that sound like rumble strips? dreadful. Then you have Khans cash grab ULEZ. Sorry but I think London is a toilet the HS2 being an escape to pleasanter pastures... the North. Best kept secret in the UK, Beautiful Yorkshire and yes Scotland.
You are right Gary. The next election is the first time in my memory that the Tories will be leaving the economy trashed, failed at most promises. Usually the other way round. However I also remember "Prudence" Brown. ATM I will not vote at next election. The options are that bad.
Was going to ask you LTI about LLOY shares being bought back but not cancelled. Meaning there are still 70 odd billion shares in issue and hence sp stagnation. But the thought gestapo will probably remove my post before you read it. Haho.
ZM14, I do wish RR would speed up production of an engine for narrow bodied aircraft. A bad choice not to make one for the 737 years ago. RR don`t seem to be in short haul at all. Time for change. It would not take much to make a better engine than Pratts geared turbofan. That engine could see the end of Pratt& Whitney.
14ZM Good post and reasoning there. The 535 E4 set a new bench mark at the time. Incorporating the new hollow fan blade it was years ahead of the competition. Every now and then RR develop an outstanding engine, the merlin, Pegasus, (harrier)
and the E4. Probably missed some but the new ultra fan with the RR Germany developed gear box looks like the next major advance. Must admit the next five years look exciting for RR.
14ZM, I remember the 211 535-E4 engine was sold the same way. However from memory the service time for this engine was doubled due to its incredible reliability. I believe it went on to set records for longest time on wing without removal. It did not generate a lot of income for years but gave RR an excellent reputation. Some still flying on 757`s.
I understand that A.rsenal but what I meant was have RR delivered new t1000,s since engine probs arose, now sorted. I do see good fortunes for rr now with ultra fans success.
Ps no disrespect with your name mate. Thought admin would have used a bit of common by now.
Can I apply for job as BT CEO?
Priorities-
1 Get rid of debt, this would be a fierce attack on the debt pile and reduce divi, wage rises, and tax paid to gov. Estimate 3 years.
2. Then or at the same time point sights at OFCOM. Employ best corporate lawyers to look through in minute detail OFCOMS constant degrading of BT over the last decade. Any slight discretion leading to large law suit against OFCOM and their masters HM GOV.
3. Invite share holders to join class action against OFCOM and GOV. The reasoning being the destruction/ inhibiting of a strong British company to a shadow of its past self. The forceful theft of its own R&R to competitors.
Now if we had a CEO like this, being willing to bare teeth at his enemies then there would be hope for SP.
