There are many hurdles to the take over. Tesco selling convenience stores and other assets ( if they are not rented ) etc. Like Bruce I have no holding here. To me Tesco mirrors Lloyds to much, stagnant SP and no divi. Like Bruce I exercise my right to post here. Opers has been spewing forth bilge on other BB`s for years, just returning the compliment. Taken from LSE MRW fundamentals, yield = 5.59%. I accept this may now be out of date but as you say still better than Tesco. GL.

Opers, you know very well its Tesco`s Debt mountain that keeps it down, and will for a very long time. Still in the £ billions hmm.

Agree with what you say. However I do think mrw are in a bit better shape than some competitors. They do make a profit, own their stores, and are belatedly getting into the home delivery / online theme. Asda have a huge backup company with Walmart. We will have to see how long Walmart wants to keep Asda`s loss making going, how long is a price war sustainable. The last thing Tesco need is a price war. Large loans due and still no divi on the horizon. My wife still likes to do a weekly shop and I`m sure there are millions like her. We will have to see how online pans out, perhaps when things get really tough unprofitable stores will be shut rather than trying to revamp them. Things are changing and survival of the fittest will become the key GL.

Bought some in the 140`s and sold them in the 160`s opers. Still hold long term shares. I did not buy Tesco all the way down from 400p like some delusional fool and getting no divi for them . Again waste of time talking to the tesco drift wood. Don`t think we need any lessons on how not to trade eh opless. GL all.
