RE: Best researched BB2 Sep 2020 11:22
There was a thread on this titled "other manufacturing partners" on August 19th where this was raised as a possibility - I posted the below and a few others concurred:
"i've been wondering for sometime now whether other partners could include Omega Diagnostics & Abingdon Health?
I was invested in ODX alongside Avacta (averaged down and moved the capital here) and so followed the company updates closely:
In addition to the antibody test (fingerprick), they also have capacity to manufacture a saliva-based lateral flow test (which I think was antigen, but haven't checked) - a recent placing was to increase capacity for both; the CEO was keen to emphasise production capacity could easily be switched between the two.
Given ODX/Abingdon are part of the UK-RTC (with BBI as a manufacturing partner also), I don't see it an inconceivable the Government (who bankroll UK-RTC) have brought them together with Avacta - It clearly states this is one aim of the CONDOR workflow in the diagrams previously shared.
After all, if antigen based LFT tests are so difficult to manufacture that we are one of/the first to market due to a novel tech platform - and it has still taken this long to get here, as every second poster is so keen emphasise... - why would another
UK-RTC company go the expense of R&D on a second test (their main focus was antibodies) as opposed to simply licensing off Avacta?
If the Government really are - as it seems - looking at population level screening, BBI Solutions alone will not have capacity and they will know this - so it seems a plausible route to me.
Complete speculation on my part, but food for thought I guess!"
