Bloo , in my opinion they would always , there must be a very good reason why this was not the case and I think BW will be asked the question and they will need a very good answer - my understanding is that the buoy system has adjusted neutral buoyancy until the very final pull in to the turret , using every increasing rope sizes .

Would a spare have made a difference , not initially but they may have stayed out and sent a vessel and manpower to assist ready for the next weather window - maybe not . The sentence in the RNS that has me scratching the head is where it says " await delivery of a new pull in rope " - does that suggest then that it is one already on order of they already have one on another vessel or in storage - because if not then we may need another chunk of patience if they are just ordering it now .

For this project it is unbelievable and unthinkable that they do not have a spare rope , it just would not happen . I do not know why it was not on board and can only assume that it is in a warehouse in the Netherlands somewhere . So a few days to get it on a boat and round to the Moray Firth …. If no Spare then they bloody borrow one because ordering one will take 3 - 6 weeks IMO.

Street , I very much doubt it - if it goes anywhere near 20% down today or tomorrow then I will be going all in , re-mortgaging the house and selling the wife - then throwing them into the bottom drawer until this is sorted and the AM tries again .

At least I should get a good price for the house. - lol

Feng that is true and goes without saying , and no one will argue that this would have be a notifiable occurrence and Bluewater will have to satisfy the regulator that whatever caused the issue will not happen again - so maybe a week to 10 days was a bit optimistic but without knowing the details it is a hard one to call .

Thursday then they may have waited WoS , Taken the new rope out and tried for the Weather Window this Friday , I now see this setting us back a week to 10 days at the very most - no big deal .

Fandg2 , correct and I would say that the Insurers will almost certainly be on board and will need to witness it and sign it off . But when someone starts saying that " environmental Inspectors " are on board then the whole thread and the individual loses all credibility .

Puffet , IMO is guessing like everyone else - although one day he will be right , I hope it is today .

If it was true then he would state his source , if he can't disclose the source then he should not put info on any public board. If his source is that close to the operation then he is very stupid releasing info that could and should cost him his job .

Warning or advice Gents and Ladies - the Company are likely turning a blind eye to any info reportedly from someone on board the FPSO or close to Hurricane or Bluewater - this will change once we have Oil IMO . It doesn't help the SP , the company or the readers - any flowrates or technical updates will hopefully be jumped on and any information leaks quickly dealt with .

I for one will be reporting anything posted here that is, or is claimed to be from someone on board the Aoka Mizu . You are not doing anyone any favours …………..
