'24. Enhanced capacity for quality assure manufacturing of rapid tests in LMICs has been enabled with UK investment along with establishment of a partnership between UK based Mologic Ltd. and a new non-profit initiative called DiaTropix run by the Institut Pasteur in Dakar, Senegal, with its main mission to promote access to diagnostics in Africa as a priority, through the development, production, and distribution of rapid diagnostic tests. As well as COVID-19, this facility will provide rapid tests for yellow fever, Ebola, measles, rubella and bacterial meningitis. One of the first tests produced at DiaTropix is the accelerated development of a COVID-19 antibody rapid test has been made possible by funding from UK Aid, receiving around £1 million of the £46 million the UK government has announced so far for international coronavirus prevention and research.'
