A student in Dax (Nouvelle-Aquitaine) who tested positive for Covid-19 at the beginning of May has been found to have had the Indian variant. This is despite no-one in his family having had any recent contact with anyone who had recently travelled from India or the UK.
His class was closed immediately and he and his family members self-isolated, which appears to have stopped the spread of the virus further in the area.
The Indian variant is still relatively uncommon in France.'

As I said in my earlier post the RNS does indicate he was pretty upset and as you say I'm sure he was going utterly apocalyptic when he found out what had happened.
Nevertheless business is founded on trust. Directors are not there to micromanage everyone in the company and other companies too. I'm sure he feels responsible and wishes he'd checked it out more..but for all we know he did but was given full reassurance by someone who perhaps didn't follow up as they should have done.
Anyway it's happened, we know about it, and we can now wait for 'shortly' to come to pass...

Trouble is everyone talks the talk but it probable was given to a junior to scan in and send...

Mowzerrocks...I've worked with many consultants and specialists and I agree you do expect updates...but they are the ones employed to do the chasing. Timescales were always part of the upfront conversations and updates would be given as situations required.
I did say there could have been dialogue/questions asked re updates but if the answers given were reassuring then why would Avacta push harder.
There are 4 companies in this bed and heaven knows how many Managers/Pen Pushers/Directors/Supervisors...
Avacta are the ones waiting not the ones doing...and someone didn't do what they should have done...

Mowzerrocks...why would they even consider double checking a so called specialist...you don't pay agents/specialists to do a job for you and then spend your time asking for updates...that in itself is not good business practice.
The agent probably given Mologic a timescale something like:
It usually takes around 5 to 7 days but with Brexit changes and Covid it could stretch to as much 10 to 14 days but we will do everything in our power to speed things along for you...we will let you know as soon as we hear back from them.
Now this was all in the Mologic camp not Avactas...
Mologic would have relayed this sort of information to Avacta who probably discussed with their broker and they came up with 'in the coming days'.
Avacta may have asked Mologic about it on one or more occasions but if they did they were obviously reassured everything was in order ....
Who know...but one thing is for sure this has been a good wake up call for Avacta...

I think the point they were trying to get across is they expect it to be quick...rockets and rears come to mind...

And if you're marketing/selling to Professiobals they won't confirm an order until the know the product has received conformity registration from the likes of MHRA...chicken and egg...and regs is regs...

The RNS clearly puts the blame at the door of the agent and someone has clearly got a rocketing and has been told in no uncertain terms to get it sorted 'NOW!!!!'....Ooooo would have loved to have heard the conversations yesterday...a few unhappy Bank Holiday puppies...

One other point..if this so called specialist is established..they should have pretty good relations with the authorities they deal with and therefore should be in a position to beg a fast track favour..if not why even bother using them...too many Internet cowboys out there...

Oh well...it happens...especially when you add so called 'specialists' into the mix.
I hope Mologic/Avacta claim some compensation from the independent regulatory consulting agency.
I wonder if Mologic used the same company for their test or did they do that one themselves.
Either way it just shows you can't always rely on third party specialists to get it right either and the old adage...if a job's worth doing it's worth doing yourself...
Hopefully the market will see this for what it is...a third party c..k up...not ours...
