Thanks Scardey_cat...you would have thought they would have had a bit more of a National approvals process for all LFT's...one standard for all where ever it is going to be used or procured by...what every happened to good old British Standards...

All these suppliers were awarded 3,000,000,000 contracts in April 21 including Medusa21 and each contract is valid for 4 years and the NHS Departments can call off as required including ordering the Avacta test through Medusa19.

If you cross reference the lists the only names appearing on both are Excalibre, Roche, Surescreen and Wuhan.

Does this mean the NHS/PHE can still buy from suppliers who have not been validated????

So within the coming months from July...
The list has 36 companies not 37 and was updated a couple of days ago..so was someone dropped or is there 1 to be added or can't he count...
Either way if Avacta is in the running they're not showing they can detect the Brasilian variant.. still waiting for samples and all 4 must be detectable. If they have passed such a test in PD then could they update their own site accordingly...

Bethell in his tweet said 37 have passed 3a approval...this list shows 36 and was updated a few days ago. WTF is going on....just look at the approval dates...is this the same list he us referring to.....

Note...he clearly says.. 'None of these has yet achieved regulatory approval to allow them to be used in the settings we require.'...

Now he did refer to SureScreen in the same letter so they are not approved yet under the new verification process. His letter was dated 8 September. Apparently someone received the same/simular letter and posted on here 2 to 4 weeks ago so either no change in status since that letter or he just couldn't be bothered to update it and it was a simple cut and paste.

His actual words in his letter to me were:
'A number of UK products have been through Porton Down validation and have passed 3a validation. None of these has yet achieved regulatory approval to allow them to be used in the settings we require. However, work is underway to secure regulatory approval for the suppliers of these products, and we hope that this will be completed successfully in the coming months.

Point 6..Bethell twitter...so is Avacta one of the 37??? If we are then we are just waiting for final registration which he said would be Iver the coming months...

So, the question is now that Avacta has launched its own Covid LFT...Will they look to develop their own tests for other diseases or do this on a licencing out basis...
The Covid LFT could just be a 'real life' proof of concept for the latter...
If affimer tech works extremely effectively for Covid in the real world then how many companies might look to develop their own affimer based LFT for Covid and/or other diseases.
As I've said before, it's been a hard slog for Avacta because affimers in the market space us all new to everyone even the UK regulatory authorities but once out there in serious volumes we will get noticed...

In France the Covid Pass is available to people who have been 1. double vaccinated, 2. have a neg PCR Test or
3. have result of a positive RT-PCR or antigen test attesting to recovery from Covid-19, dating at least 11 days and less than 6 months.

No 3 is the issue because youngsters who don't want to be vaccinated are having Covid parties and inviting kids along who have Covid so they too can catch it and they will then get their Covid Pass using the No. 3 option.
