This thing has dropped through my buy in price but not sure now if I should wait a bit, I don’t like it when I don’t understand at least the rationale behind the move and this is dropping hard. One answer to the question what would someone else do better. I worked on some of the VF acquisitions from 1996 to 2013 (very small cog) and commented when I left in 2013 that this leviathan no long made sense and should be broken up. I’m not getting exited about the “loss” after re measurement
Remeasurement is the process of re-establishing the value of an item or asset to provide a more accurate financial record of its value.
Companies use remeasurement to report assets that are valued in a different currency on their financial statements.
Remeasurement is also used in instances of impairment of long-term assets, such as a fixed asset or intangible.
COVID-19 brought about complications relating to the testing for goodwill impairment and valuation for remeasurement.
A nice contact win trumping last weeks news. 12% on revenue between them. A few more of those and we can look forward to a buy out.

So assuming itv does not end up owning 4 is there a dividend to itv as a tv company and production company - you have to think the majority of the cash will end up in the treasury - Not even 4’s management believe the sale a good idea and the chancellor would never let it float and keep the much of the proceeds.
“ Money made from the sale will be reinvested in a "creative dividend" to be shared among the TV industry, with some of it earmarked for independent production companies.”
