Pop, likewise . Just looking through my history- first purchase was Jan 2009 @ £2.75 and I thought it was a good investment at the time! Luckily I sold and kept away for a few years, dipping in and out occasionally. Like you I have been buying in the low 20’s but need sp to double to get me out of the red.

Disappointing there have been no share buy backs since the AGM. I can only assume that they have been spending more cash than sales revenue this year and they need to preserve cash which could be a concern.

Sold about half of my CCL holding over the past 2/3 weeks at a good profit but could have been a lot better. That said, I have done very well with 888 during the same time which is where some of my proceeds have gone. If only my biggest loss maker (GEMD) could follow the same trend!

With a NAV of over £1/share someone must be thinking along those lines.

Do people really use this? In the past 6 months they have got it wrong more than right.

Many years ago (about 20) P&O were our go-to cruise company - we particularly liked Oriana and still prefer that size of ship. Then we discovered Cunard, QV and QE are only slightly larger. It’s interesting what you say about class distinction, as most people on board would say it doesn’t exist. In the lift you have to enter your room card to get to the top floor where the restaurant is and occasionally you get a comment. Other than that there is no other distinction as, unlike some other cruise lines, there are no other areas exclusive to Grills Suite guests. I have noticed that Butlers now have to carry our more of the room steward tasks as they now have to manage more suites between them. Still get canapés every night, also you get two bottles of spirits which the Butler replaces before you actually manage to finish a bottle. That certainly helps with the budget! No problems with the OBS as the other half drinks one of the most expensive brandies on board, two or three doubles a night and a bottle of wine with dinner soon sorts that!

Thanks to both of you - very helpful. we’ll have to start with the MDR and see how we get on. We also never use the the buffet. From what we gather it appears that the number of dishes on the MDR menu have reduced and my wife has an issue with what she calls desert (fruit/sweet sauces etc) on her savoury dishes which seem to appear more and more on the menu. she does not have a sweet tooth and the only deserts she will have are cheese and occasionally ice cream. The problem is we have been spoilt with Queens Grill on Cunard having used it over 60 nights in the past 18 months, and still another 22 nights before we take the Ventura cruise in Feb. I’m sure we’ll cope!!

Ken, that’s the one. The food is our greatest concern. If it is an issue we may be spending a lot of money eating in Epicurean and Sindhu then hoping to cover the cost in the casino. lol!

That would be just what is needed - this share is killing me. Done well over the past two weeks with CCL and 888 but nowhere near enough to cover my losses here.

We have taken a number of Cunard cruises in the past 18 months and find it difficult to fault them, although you are paying considerably more. We had one short break with P&O and did not get the same experience. Over 2 years ago we booked a 35 night P&O cruise for next February and, as time goes on, we are beginning to wonder if we made the right decision particularly based on comments I read here.

100notout, 1.5 million shares bought back last year. As you say, 13.9m is substantially more. The only hiccup is that would use up all of the cash the company held at the last y/e but hopefully there have been a few sales in he last 6 months to swell the coffers.

Ken, sounds like we had similar experiences. Copenhagen was our last port (Tues of last week I think). Weather was great - took the hop on bus from the dock. Biggest problem is they don’t take you back to the boat. You have to get off at the little mermaid statue then queue for a shuttle with passengers from all other cruise ships it was chaos and almost doubled the time the journey took.

On QV also in Baltic last two weeks. Quite warm and sunny - particularly Helsinki where we were for two days. No talk about illness but was aware that there were a handful of passengers in isolation.

Currently on Queen Victoria 10th of 16 nights. Not aware of any outbreak on board although one cabin on our corridor has had a red card in its door handle for about 4 days - not sure of the significance but assume it’s some sort of health issue as empty food trays keep appearing outside.

I did - but it was still a disappointment. Still, just cruising out of Southampton and will be clear of uk waters in time for me to lose some money this evening.
