At 30.4p. The way I’m looking at it is the PTAB is backstopped by commercial pipeline. At 30p that’s a no brainer. We can only go off the guidance of course but to me, 30p will be a distant memory next year.

This is one of those shares I feel will reward buy and hold (for once!)

BTBs attempts to play the trader on Nano have been disastrous. Anyone who does the opposite of what he says will have made a killing haha.
Time to take a big gulp and buy back those shares you sold last week pal ;)

How many CEOs would’ve just let the existing cash burn rate stay as is and then think ‘ah sod it we can do a fund raise’? I can think of plenty.

This is what I like about Tenner. He spotted something he didn’t like and fixed it. Not just increasing revenue but somehow managing to get even leaner on the burn. Those are not easy decisions to make yet he’s somehow managed to further reduce cash burn and therefore cash position looking really positive for the year ahead, at least until we have further clarity on commercialisation and/or litigation.

I don’t take too much from the bullish tone regarding the legal front I think it’s their job to be upbeat. But extending cash runway to 2023 is a very good achievement, well done BT.

With respect blitzed, if these forums are not for the sharing of thoughts, ideas, speculation in addition to factual information then what purpose do they serve?

I’ve always found the concept of rampers and derampers a bit daft. It isn’t hard to spot if someone has an agenda and I don’t think it’s wise to work on the assumption that these boards are populated by clueless sheep in need of our benevolent guidance. We discuss openly and folk can take it or leave it. For what it’s worth I don’t think anyone is taken in by ‘x price by x date’ sort of comments, especially in a very non hyped stock like this.

Not trying to pick a fight here just don’t think it’s a problem we need to worry about. The Nano board is a great board IMO.

I share your optimism in the general sense Hawi but the likelihood of glittering interims is slim, and likely to precipitate a pull back IMO.

The company seems to be guiding that H2 is where things will get interesting from the commercial front, looking at the last RNS. The work package will provide a small lift but nothing substantial…yet.

My view is that money continues to trickle in in anticipation of the PTAB next month. Very good upside potential given the current price and shares in issue IMO.

Either way a really interesting and pivotal few months coming up.

Yes Amer I was wondering why that was not mentioned. Perhaps if they were seen to be getting personal with Samsung at this stage that’s extraneous to re purpose of the PTAB and would be looked dimly upon by the judges? One could take the view that the primary objective is to assert patents, not to bring in specific contexts to th process?

Either way it’ll be useful ammo in a court of law and will be pretty damning when pushing for wilful infringement. Even the simplest of folk can see how that timeline of events looks.

Interesting perspective SandA, I do see what you mean about Newman being somewhat emotionally charged, although I read that somewhat differently to yourself.
For me, I felt Newman robustly clarified his points with science where needed, but also showed a little exasperation at Samsung’s attempts to muddy the water and to make bad faith arguments. I think he was right to call out the mix and match literature trawl for the nonsense that it was, and I think he succeeded in his point that Samsung had simply failed to meet the burden of proof that a POSITA could consult these various sources and create cad free cluster compounds. This was made glaringly obvious, for me, by the fact that Samsung had attempted to bring new evidence into the case. It just lays bear their attempts to retrospectively engineer a uniform cluster compound from the available literature. In the cold light of day, I felt the arguments verged on ridiculous, and I totally get why Newman got annoyed.
But I agree, this process is not infallible, and any rational investor is right to feel a little jittery as to the outcome. Overall, though, I’m more bullish than I was pre transcript.

If I remember right there is cash runway to H2 2022. So I think the issue of a cash raise is moot for two reasons:
If they are raising cash post PTAB it will likely be a raise at a much higher level, and there will be good appetite from investors to be part of that IMO
I think they see the STM deal coming to fruition pretty soon. Move to Runcorn etc. if we get some strong updates on that then again I think there will be appetite from investors to back a raise.

So I don’t think investors should fear a fund raise. If one happens, it’s likely to be in a much rosier context than where we currently are at.

If hyperinflation is a concern then we are all doomed. And money is best parked in gold and silver IMO. Never a bad diversification strategy to have a bit in precious metals.

Short to medium term inflation is nothing to worry about in terms of your investment in Nano. It will either do really well or really badly, and a bit of inflation eroding that away won’t stop your money from appreciating by multiples of the current price. Such is the inflection point we currently reside at. I think it’s important we just play the cards we are dealt at the moment.

The beauty of Nano is it could ‘inflation proof’ itself by turning its attention more fully to applying its tech to cost saving devices, or defence. The potential is there. I’d like to see some of the agricultural lighting ideas gain a bit more traction. Any settlement money (our money) could really help fire up the RandD again and, as Amer said, disrupt lots of different sectors.

From the 17th March the SP has been on a relentless trek upwards. You can put your finger on the graph at the ‘foot of the mountain’ as it were and that day happens to be the day the transcripts were released.

I think the market is having its say on our chances and as yet, we have been unable to find consensus as to true value: each day brings with it another successive move upwards. At what price level is the balance between risk and reward deemed equitable? Clearly not in the 20s it would seem.

It’s been fun to watch. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a sustained rise without any real pull backs. Could someone be loading up?!

A legal settlement is of extreme material value for Nanoco and shareholders, I don’t think the importance of the case is fully appreciated by some based on the comments.

It is not just about wringing Samsung for a few hundred mil, it is about affirming our patents, and forcing Samsung to pay for what they owe, not just in the past but in the future too. I.e licensing.

The initial settlement gives us all a nice payday. I hope to see a small special divi for shareholders ans the rest invested in securing nano’s financial future and pursuing growth opportunities.

But the game changer is any licensing deal that we might get off the back of a settlement. It would likely dwarf the sorts of figures STM deal might yield.

There are a lot of if’s and maybes here but please let’s remember the legal case, if successful, isn’t just a one off payday, any settlement is likely to factor in a licensing agreement that could be incredibly important to nano’s prospects.

I still see the PTAB as front and centre for now, but the STM deal will prove a useful backstop and will prevent utter ruin if we are unsuccessful on the legal front.

Great spot Amer. The timelines marry perfectly. That’s the fundraise argument put to bed if commercialisation happens at scale later this year.

Totally agree Hawi. Just my observations as I’ve got to know this stock quite well and certain patterns tend to establish themselves. I’m not a Chartist by any means but it’s strange how shares settle into certain patterns. I’ve made a bit of loose change trading part of my holding with other stocks but I dare not do that here.

The exciting thing about the next few months is that if we do get good news, it’s very difficult to say precisely where we will end up. I suspect the money that’s been flowing in recently doesn’t quite take as long a term view as we do, but the upside potential is as obvious as the day is long.

Just potential at the moment. Feet on the ground etc.

I don’t disagree with the idea of a short position at this price, though it would need to be kept a very close eye on. A retrace is odds on IMO. However, what is abundantly clear is this rise would not have been possible without lots of sticky hands. Nearly 40% up with volume rarely nudging beyond 1 million. Liquidity is pretty low here.

If we do get news on the legal front, imagine the spike we would get with so little liquidity and open short positions!

If I remember correctly, At one time there was a lot of speculation that cadmium could be banned by the EU. It never materialised. Still, with the push on being greener focus could again tilt towards cas free, it’s a pretty nice USP to have with an increasingly environmentally aware customer base.

True, but the market does not know ‘the customer’ but insiders at Nanoco would. They would also know how close to commercialisation they are whereas the market does not.
Both these factors are material and would disbar employee share purchases IMO.

That would constitute insider trading Eggs and is illegal. Options are one way to circumvent that, which is what will happen if the SP hits 50p if memory serves.

It’s too soon to say whether the 20p resistance line, which has held for 3 months I might add, becomes support. It may well be that a new channel has established itself, in which case the next resistance is around 24/25p, but don’t be surprised to see this fall back to 20p over the coming weeks.
By my calculations we have no more than a month to take final positions before we fire up the turbines and things heat up, this is due to the looming prospect of the whole Runcorn situation bearing fruit as much as the legal battle IMO.
