A solid cash position also takes on a strategic dimension too and protects us from being lowballed. This is why there is some wisdom in taking some of the available finance. Whilst funding Hav entirely from cash would be a dream, it would leave us depleted cash wise and vulnerable for a while.

Not only does the loan allow more cash to sit on the balance sheet ready to defend against a cheap offer, it also makes a T/O less attractive if there are bank strings attached.

I personally find shorts a bit grimy but they do also help to bring high quality companies into the open. Such is the case with GGP.

Remember when a new short opened a couple of months back and Shaun smashed them with a production snapshot?

In a way, there’s a argument that shorts help keep good quality companies honest, especially if they want to protect shareholder interests, because the bigger the short, the more exposed the shareholder is to negative news. I imagine this is partly why every I will be dotted, every t crossed for this DFS.

And of course, eventually, they’re a guaranteed buyer.

So whilst shorts are not for me they can be a net positive for holders of high quality cash generative companies.

The price of gold and silver, which is now bouncing, also tells its own story.

It’s clear to me that Shaun’s aim is to truly understand the scale of mineralisation still at Telfer, it’s certainly orders of magnitude bigger than I ever imagined. Maybe naively, I went big here (relatively speaking, based on my modest means) when I explored the economics of the stockpile at Telfer, and how the gold sat there, with little mining risk, basically equated to the market cap at the time. But let’s be clear, for many it seemed taken as read that Telfer was an old girl and that maybe, with the wind behind us, we might get her to see us through to Hav production.

And today? A whole new mine within a mine, with beautiful grades and strike lengths. On top of the exceptional prospects in the main dome extensions. Shaun is laying the foundations to reveal dynastic mine life at Telfer. They’re just getting started.

The share price is what it is, I still believe it’ll sort itself out eventually, but look at what has been achieved this past year. It’s been utterly mind blowing. The only misstep was the production downgrade shortly after listing but it’s been all killer no filler both before and since.

All eyes on the DFS now.

It’s clear GGP wants to keep powder dry to continue developing Telfer. You’d imagine the capex bringing WDD online would ne a fraction of Hav and could easily be done from the coffers. With those grades you’d see the money back in months rather than years.

Research the capex of a processing plant the likes of which exists at Telfer and you’ll realise even just for the processing plant along the deal was a bargain, let alone throwing in two mines to boot!

Given all the exploration at the moment both us and other explorers, it’s difficult to comprehend the massive strategic advantage the plant will offer in the long term.

A few quite emotional posts coming out recently which will be music to the accumulator’s ears. The plan to bore and confound folks out of their shares is working a treat.

Millions upon millions of shares routinely swapping hands after hours to keep the book looking like a mill pond during the trading day.

When such elaborate games are being played it suggests the prize at the end of it will be significant.

Hopefully Hav will prove the catalyst. News not far away!

JB and all his pals will no doubt tell us it’s all normal but the truth is, AIMs lax rules around delayed reporting and after hours means the waters are totally muddied here.

Volume is the arbiter of price. If that volume is being hidden, then it stands to reason, by logical extension, that price discovery is being manipulated. This game has been played for months now.

I feel I’ve been a net beneficiary of this game as I continue to participate in share purchasing when I can, but that doesn’t stop it stinking to high heaven.

Hopefully the DFS will create so much buying pressure it’ll force the games to stop. Who knows!

Element, to be fair Jim Rickards is a massive gold bug. But I get your underlying point re hedgeye.

I don’t see John’s reemergence as a coincidence. It’s all part of the play book.

Last time the short was getting serious heat from Brie gold price, it was the usual hand wringing from this poster about why GGP isn’t going parabolic, what’s going wrong etc.

The same today.

It’s the classic move. The tide is held in terms of price. People get spooked ‘why is it not going up?’ ‘Was there something I missed in the AGM?’ ‘This doesn’t make sense?!’ Then capitulation and, hey presto, great whopping volumes get reported day after day after another good old PI scalping on the AIM.

Where money is concerned there’s no trick that won’t be played, no low that will not be sunk to, in order to extract you from your hard earned.

I think I’ll go off the glittering presentation this morning, where at least a decade is all but nailed on, and grades that haven’t been seen for 20 years, than this faux panic from the likes of JB thank you very much.

We are not for turning!

PJ if the after hours is anything to go by then there’s plenty interest!

It’s just that there is a game being played to keep that interest off the books for as long as possible and create the illusion of a flat market.

Also said stage 2 ‘orders of magnitude’ bigger than stage 7 which adds 2 years of mine life. So to me we are looking at least 8-10 years there.

Don’t think the market is taking GGP too seriously at the moment, if P/E is anything to go by.

Once reserves are proved up, you should see P/E revert to the mean (or close to it) that’s an implied upside of at least 150% from current levels.

Think the market needs convincing on the resources available to mine, and a bit more demonstrable operational capability. By March (Telfer Update) most of those boxes will hopefully have been ticked.

I for one have really enjoyed the discussion TT. No need to apologise.

It would be hard to imagine a world where the US govt isn’t taking a close look at that deposit. Huge, tier 1 potential, a Five Eyes/QUAD ally country that’s recently signed a huge minerals deal. Tungsten ranked amongst the very top in the US criticality chart due to its defence applications. Really exciting stuff!

To use a Drovermanism, thinking laterally, I’m wondering if the US might provide a helping hand in ways other than $$$. Do they give us some expertise in Tungsten mining, highly favourable offtake terms, or, most beneficial I feel, would be taking on much of the processing burden, which seems to be highly specialised based on what Bamps and others have said.

Could become another case of perfect timing for GGP, and the diversification aspect would be massively accretive for GGP’s overall business model.

Nice big volumes on the ASX too. I’d expect traders to step in and fill the arb gap if they want to play silly beggars on here. The demand is there.
