Forgive my ignorance on this but doesn’t this article already outline those currently not included who are set to be included (at the bottom) or am I jumbled up?

The ASX trading pattern has been a rinse and repeat for the last week. Initial strength and steady gains, and then kneecapped about 3 hours in and held there.

The play seems obvious enough. Dabble a little hopium of gains, then smash it into the negative and bore/frustrate shares from traders. The relatively low volumes mean this game can be played over and over, using well executed sells to mop up the fallout and, crucially, keep the stock in a channel.

When this damn will break, no one knows, but my money is on next week. Something has got to give and I assume this low volume is leaving buyers mighty short.

I’ve been impressed by the pathetic volumes here in the UK in terms of refusal to hand them over at these prices. LTHs holding the line and not giving up their shares. Even though the majority of GGP stock resides on Uk shores, it’s the ASX volumes that are proving higher.

We are not for turning!

-the world’s largest asset management company has started buying the stock

- the company achieves fast track entry to the ASX and…

- … the forced buying that includes

- the macro gold environment is extremely strong

- drill results are due by the next quarterlies

- all sorts of silly games are being played to keep the price in a channel

Don’t say the market isn’t giving you any signals that this thing is about to go ballistic.

The signs are all there.

Anyone who gets their nickers in a twist when the goalposts shift slightly shouldn’t be investing in mining full stop IMO. Even massive companies routinely under or outperform guidance. Just part and parcel.

Obviously a load was made of it here because vested interests ensured that the situation could be exploited to its maximim…the impact of which is still being felt right now.

We are really headed down some right cul de sacs here. Their grind it lower plan is clearly working in terms of crushing sentiment and allowing the doubting toms from the woodwork.

The trackers are mandated to buy. They are a passive fund and the key word is passive. People buying etfs want broad exposure to the whole index. Imagine Greatland goes on to massively outperform but a smart arse ETF didn’t buy their balancing quota. It’s not providing the product it claims to is it?

Also we are missing a key detail here. Why have an index inclusion and a seperate rebalancing date? If ETFs weren’t obliged to buy surely they could do away with the rebalance date?

To keep your head when all around you are losing theirs…

The grind tactics are producing about 2 million shares a day across both indices. It’s going to leave them mighty short of stock…and god help them if the GDX needs in too.

If gold holds around these levels then Q4 is going to be stunning. Genuinely feel Havieron could be fully funded by this time next year at these gold prices.

Also more than negates the marginal guidance drop.

That’s how long they have to rebalance.

Perhaps hoping for a weaker macro to let them in a bit cheaper; doesn’t look like that’s happening.

Volume will be the true arbiter of price discovery, and they won’t be able to keep the price here, hoovering up scraps towards their target. Volume still frankly pathetic.

The longer this goes on, the more frenzied buying gets down the road. Disorderly buying could really spike the SP.

What an absolute unicorn of an investment GGP is right at this present moment. Double digit growth in less than a fortnight, practically nailed on.

This is absolutely not true for ETFs. Needs to be done by 22nd September. To be clear this is 100% a forced buying event in a very small time window.

I think if Wyloo had ambitions to own a gold miner, it would’ve been lodged a bit in or around the Telfer acquisition. GGP could’ve been had for a relative song then. Instead, a strategic partnership was preferred, and I don’t see any reason why that would change.

Honestly the board on weekends is an absolute joy. High quality contributions and measured debate. No one flooding the board with idiotic musings, threatening to knock someone out or commenting every nano second on the SP.

Don’t think it can be overstated just how important yesterday’s news might prove.

Firstly, one of the first ever companies to gain entry under the new 3 month fast track, showing not just Greatland’s market cap, but satisfying all other liquidity and regulatory mandates to secure entry. Absolutely fantastic and a huge boost for our leadership. A proper company sitting in a top, world recognised index.

Secondly, much has been made of the influence of passive (tracker) fund buying shifting the SP. But let’s not forget there are a whole raft of investors: hedge funds, supers and PIs who can only invest in stocks in major indices. Now that world of buying is opened up to us too.

Feels so satisfying watching, in 12 short months our transition from an exploration minnow to a powerful mid tier, now listed on a major index, primed for new capital inflows in the hottest sector in the world right now.

Thought the SP would do a bit more than it has but honestly so relaxed about this now. Lots of forced buying carrying us through to quarterlies, FS and any drill outcomes, all against the backdrop of a soaring gold price.

The confluence of price drivers is bordering on poetic.

2025 is set for a grandstand finish. What a year!

Swore I was done buying with my last one at 260, but had another dip today.

Entrants today will see a nice ROI in fairly short order I’d imagine.

Double whammy really as shows the whole ASX aware storm in teacup is put to bed. Surely they would’ve vetoed the move should they have had serious concerns.

Agreed James. The stalemate continues. We launch from 260s to over 300s but it’s not enough to promote any meaningful volume. Something will have to give.
