Presumably the 750k buy was why the SP rocketed 14% on Thursday. They paid 2.90p but would buying 100k in several tranches over a couple of days have cost them a lot less? WTFDIK? ZIOC's rise this week helped my PF rise 12% - its best performance since July 2020. I see that GLEN has been supporting Britishvolt which is commendable. Just don't get me started on the stupidity of electric cars and the pricing of the ordinary motorist off the road. I will stick with my 12 year old Panda which is probably the cheapest car to run. Post-ZIOC jackpot I quite fancy a Citroen C5 X made in China.

My only other gold investment is rewarding my research - let's hope I'm right about ORR as well.

Nothing wrong with being part of the herd! It's often they who make the most profits! As always, timing is everything and I hope your long term hold proves profitable. I am currently sitting on a loss but I remain confident and am researching other investments in India.

What exactly determines the price of Gold? Supply & Demand? Manipulation by Central Banks? I dunno but ORR still looks cheap! And if Cameroon turns out better than expected then GGP will no longer be the benchmark by which all gold minnows are judged. Pleased to read the BOD is engaging with shareholders and apologies to Bob Smeeton for thinking he's stupid! Clumsy and insensitive, maybe, but if he can help to turn ORR around he must be a genius! It's about time the tide turned and punters stopped selling at a loss but it's hard to see what will drive the SP higher apart from a takeover offer from an opportunistic predator . Preferably two.

Why are you "slowly building your position" if you're expecting "a sudden outburst"? Or is "building your position" the same as averaging down? You may be right in thinking ORR has the "biggest upside" but no one knows why at the moment.
Maybe Cameroon will turn ORR into a GGP? I remain confident (thousands wouldn't).

A couple of buys @ 109p but the herd are noticeable by their absence! As for the "digital ad downturn", I foolishly imagined that RCH offering a digital subscription would cover its costs! Obviously, if the subscription is high enough it would but what amount would that need to be? How important are digital ads? Would subscribers pay to not watch them? For me, adverts on catch-up TV are extremely annoying - less so on terrestrial as I can check out what's happening on other channels.

Keep the faith Kutzz! Timing, as always, is everything. Out of 14 holdings, I only have 2 in profit: GRX up 39% and RCH up 25%. The other 12 are way underwater - a couple are below the seabed! The story I like the most is about major goldminers driving down the SPs of the minor goldminers they want to takeover - it makes perfect sense! And if it's true then buying the most driven down goldminers ought to be a profitable investment. On that basis, I'm also a shareholder in HUM who are intent on lowering their astronomical AISC - if it plunges then the SP ought to rocket? I dunno. Interesting article in today's Grauniad about a punter turning $15k into $1.2m and then losing the lot and still owing tax!

If Barryroe's a goer then LOGP's a winner but if the crazy Irish Government kills off the project then LOGP could follow RKH down the arbitration route via ICSID and be awarded a lot more than the current Mkt. Cap. but it could take 6 years. The other day a man stopped me in the street to ask for directions to Irish Energy Security and I had to tell him "I wouldn't start from here!"

More shenanigans in the Congo next door to our Congo, thankfully not involving GLEN: A lobbying firm with deep ties to the Conservative party planned a secretive campaign to influence elections in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in exchange for millions of pounds from a mining company.
Leaked documents suggest the influential firm co-owned by the veteran Tory strategist Sir Lynton Crosby agreed to help First Quantum Minerals swing a presidential election in the central African country.

The mining and commodities giant Glencore will be forced to pay £281m in fines, confiscated profits and costs as punishment for “sustained criminality”, the largest ever penalty imposed on a company in a UK court.
A judge at Southwark crown court in London on Thursday said offences by a UK subsidiary of Glencore showed high culpability for the “highly corrosive” offence.
Glencore received a one-third discount on the fine for pleading guilty to the bribery charges, which were brought by the UK’s Serious Fraud Office (SFO).
The court had heard how Glencore employees and its agents had given bungs worth $27m to unnamed officials in Nigeria, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea and South Sudan, causing harms worth $128m – £81m at the time of the offences.

Interesting developments over at HUM where their Management has inserted an anti-dilution clause: Pasofino will issue to Hummingbird such number of common shares of Pasofino that results in Hummingbird owning 51% of the outstanding Common Shares of Pasofino on completion of the Consolidation. In addition, Hummingbird has an anti-dilution right that provides that if, as and when any warrants outstanding as at the date the option satisfaction notice was issued by Pasofino are exercised, Pasofino shall issue to Hummingbird one Common Share for each Common Share issued in connection with such exercise. Maybe it's only the left hand talking to the right hand but it contrasts with Mr Smeeton's belief that dilution is not worth worrying about. And yes, he should resign as he's a traitor to shareholder value. How can a chartered accountant be so stupid? ORR needs a better CFO!

Percentage of shares N.I.P.H. = 75.57% so things could get very interesting.

Not sure free-float means anything these days. Shares appear to be traded in a parallel universe. Just tried a dummy buy on a T + 20 and was offered 53,050 shares @ 2.20p. With a T + 2 the same amount of cash bought 56,514 shares @ 2.074p. Very nice 0.126p premium for ii and they have the gall to charge an extra fiver for using the T+ 20 facility.

bbr391, you are so enigmatic yet strangely comforting! While I've always viewed my investment in IIP as a binary bet, it's also true that the tail wags the dog. Allegedly up 2.94% today on small change, it will be interesting to see what happens when the herd arrive (assuming there still is a herd). I wish I had a word with which to end every comment! Leave it with me.

Thanks for all the responses! Sorry to hear Rak0328 is sitting on a 54% loss. I can understand picax's approach but I'm not convinced it's the right one. Except I've just averaged down with ORR and I'm opposed to averaging down! But timing is everything. At the same time, constant averaging down is bonkers - much better to find a new investment! I'm surprised the SP is where it is despite reports of progress. Keep the faith? BEN is now my 3rd largest investment and will continue to sink unless something changes.
