Cheers both. You too Thomson, been a shocker! First Thomas Cook then this. Basically it couldn’t have been any worse, so only one way now imo. Survival of the fittest.
I have no doubt the commission costs have been included in the financials, as it is a significant cost, but one I feel won’t make a major impact.
Not forgetting though, (in my experience) a tour operator would sell only about 30% of its capacity through travel agents, the rest direct sell. In Sagas case though, you may well see that cost increase as particularly after all these events people will now turn to travel agents rather than going alone to take care of everything. Especially the over 50’s!!!
Also Saga offer price parity which is good, so travel agents get same price as direct website, enabling to sell easier. GL all.
