Took the words out of my mouth! This is ready to sore. I don’t think BJ Roadmap will have much influence at all on this. Mainstream travel more so. We are talking about 2 Cruise Ships where everyone will be vaccinated and ready to go, no fly involved, even if there is a 4-6 week delay to June and a possibility of ‘cruise only’. Plus a stable insurance arm.

It’s all about patience! As frustrating as it is.

What’s that in today’s money JD

I was thinking the same. But....things are changing on almost a daily basis for the better, and it’s only the 17th Feb. Government have to play it cool, to stop people going bananas. It’s about crowd control as much as anything. My opinion is that, if entertainment venues and sporting facilities can open open May, I see no reason why 2 cruise ships, where all passengers are ‘fully vaccinated’ departing from UK ports, on a cruise only can’t operate by that time. I see some form of main stream travel open from mid to end of July. For most tour operators July & October are the months they make money, I’m sure that will be taken into consideration, because if they don’t, mainstream operators will go bust on a grand scale or need huge bail-out. Not Saga obviously.

Add to that, Over 65’s starting to get vaccinated from tomorrow! The prime Saga target market for Cruise especially.
Over 65’ vaccination will be a lot quicker process too (if it could even get quicker) with them being more accessible.

All Ocean Cruises are depart from UK only which is the major benefit of having no-fly programme and where the real ocean ships profit is. There River cruises will involve flying but tiny compared to Ocean which is what we need selling. I believe this is a huge factor in re-starting, the advantage of UK port departures
