No. I have never done day trading but I think some do when there is such volatility and they can make a few percent in a day. I am a long term investor with a significant holding and waiting for the heralded £6 per share in less than 5 years time.

You obviously think you are clever noticing that the general trend for the SP has been downward and so shareholders in general have not been making a profit over the long term. However if you noticed that the price increased in the day and then reduced nearer to the close of the day you might conclude that some actually clever people were buying early and selling the same shares later in the day to take a profit. Don’t you think this is a possibility or aren’t you clever enough?

It was a 15:1 consolidation in about October 2020.

I think the SP will rebound over the next year. 150 end of November, 250 end of January, 350 end of July 2023. I think these price surges are the start of the rise and then are being pegged back by profit taking. All my humble opinion of course.

Please could you explain why you think the % short positions for Saga are so significant in relation to Saga’s SP when the % is lower than many other shares in a similar industry? It doesn’t seem to me that 1.09% shorts should give rise to such dramatic falls in the Saga SP compared to much larger short positions in other shares that are not falling sharply.

There is a lot of speculation on this board about what could be the reason for the rapid drop in SP so I have asked Saga’s Investor Relations to explain and allay our fears. The answer is that the rapid fall in SP is a reaction to what was announced at the presentation of the interim results and there is no bad news yet to be announced. I hope this helps.

I forgot but the CFO also said that although the published price for the bonds was low it didn’t mean that bond holders would be prepared to redeem at that price.

That was suggested at the interim results shareholder meeting but the CFO answered in the very dull way that they had other priorities at this time than to make some easy cash.

In the green from here up to £6.00 in 4 to 5 years. Just like Euan said.

I don’t see why you say it is worrying. There is not much volume of share sales. It is only a few of you who are whipping up some bad sentiment about the future probably so that you can profit from inducing a fall. The business is sound and making a profit except for some non-cash write-downs. Best if people ignore you and wait to see the SP recover. Better for them to follow the example set by the well-informed director buying £200K worth of shares.

I don’t like his remarks either but this Diandto fella has been successful in predicting the drops in SP. I don’t know how he does it but eventually I feel that this share will be a big winner. I will hold on for the big pay day.

I watched the presentation of the interim results. The FD’s facial expressions and body language seemed to show that he was not comfortable with most of what was being said by the CEO and by himself. Does he really believe the story?

In the calculation you posted, you should divide £130M by 2.1B (not 1.1B). Then you will all agree.
