Sierra over 30 dollars pre market

The Sierra Bears took a hiding yesterday and are still wondering why because of the dilution proposal. They seem confident of more luck today but I am not so sure. ‘It’s the Science idiots” comes to mind.

Should we expect Sierra to provide further details of the proposed SRA combo trials soon in order to make the stock offering more attractive?

After hours trading still going on and the share price has not tanked despite what would be a significant dilution. In fact it has started to recover. The penny (or cent) is starting to drop. Great news for Sierra development and I expect to see trials commence this year not next.

Yes all positive and to the point. Like the heading “ SRA 737 has shown exciting potential in combination trials’. John and Tim certainly seem bullish about this.

Why would they need to link up with a pharma now? They have enough funding to get through phase 1 for SDC1801 and SDC 1802. There will be plenty of opportunities during this period to get the best deal they can.

Thanks Thoth - as both have already been through clinical trials would it be likely that any combination trials would have accelerated status?

SCHeck - regarding the Sierra pipeline I find it strange why ‘ SRA737 + IO/Gemcitabane’’ is showing as phase 1 design. SRA 737 with Gemcitabane has already gone through 2.5 years of trials and reached phase 1/2 status. Not sure what IO means as there is no explanation - unless it is other investigational opportunities. Even so surely those trials would have a faster time scale for completion given existing progress and scientific support for unmet need status?

Thanks HBD. Lots of scope for SDC -1801 - 39 quoted Autoimmune diseases and numerous other opportunities such as Respiratory, Long Covid, Sepsis and Alzheimer’s Disease. The sky’ s the limit if it works to its full potential.

Thanks SCH - patents are complicated. Does the patent have to list Alzheimer’s Disease or is it the active site that determines whether a disease is covered. Sorry if I am talking nonsense!

The world wide market for treatment of myelofibrosis is expected to reach one billion dollars by 2027 and is currently around 500 million dollars. The Gilead deal for the sale of Momelotinib to Sierra included 195 million dollars for milestone payments relating to the development and approval of the marketed treatment. So that would take away a large amount of any revenue that Sierra would receive. It’s not surprising that Dilley has acknowledged that SRA737 could be far more lucrative in the longer term. The Sierra pipeline shows that plans for combination trials of SRA 737 and SRA 515 - and other possible combinations in treating Heme and Solid Tumour Cancers, are being developed. But until there is some positive news on trial developments it looks like the market will remain unimpressed. If that is the case, plans for SRA 737 trials will need to be brought forward as soon as possible if the share price is to make any significant progress during 2022. It would be surprising if that was not the case.

Gilead did take a 7% stake in Sierra as well. At the time the view of some on this board was that Gilead gave momolitinib away cheaply because it coveted SRA 737 . Will be interesting to see if there are any developments in that direction.

Sierra Oncology purchased Momelotinib from Gilead with a 3million dollar upfront payment with milestone payments (mainly commercial) of up to 195 million dollars if the Drug reaches the commercial market. It’s chances of success seem to have been boosted further by today’s report in the Journal of Hematology and Oncology which highlights the important part momelotinib plays in reducing anaemia in mylofibrosis patients. Whilst this should be seen as positive news in terms of kickstarting SRA737 combination treatments for heme and solid tumour cancers, the market seems to have adopted a sell on good news position. The share price fell 8% yesterday and was down a further 9% in the last hour..The reason for the fall is not clear but could be down to dilution fears. It will be interesting to see how much further it will drop in the near future.
If it continues perhaps its could start to make Sierra an attractive option for a takeover?

nor - - in my view reporting of full toxicology results is not going to happen. The report is an essential part of the clinical trial application process. It would not be published prior to a pending application. At best we will get a short summary stating that the results are either satisfactory for the clinical submission or presumably there will be a delay if they are not.
