Your analysis was correct, AUM up yet over 8% is not enough, apparently, for the market & they are marked down at the opening today.
Doesn't make sense to me, and a 4.3% yoeld ro boot. I am adding to my holding on these figures

I missed that in the press yesterday but just spotted it on LSE share news, except they quote £40 mill as the price.
I think a good idea because I am not sure if P&P are really a good fit in a pub estate, certainly the one in City of London, Cornhill, is not good, poor service, not great food (that is being polite!) and expensive rent/rates to boot, I fancy.
£40 mill off the debt would do very nicely, shame RF did not try selling it a few years ago, it would have been an easier sale then.

Yes she finally went, but should have really gone long ago, I see those left on the board are now renaming it on Monday, quite why a change from Mercia Tech to Mercia Asset Managers is deemed necessary, heaven knows, frankly I'd be much happier if they had been thinking of their Corporate Governance than a name change, still we are where we are, let us hope they give us some good news Monday

With any luck we might go through 120 soon, the wind seems to be behind us for once, that would be pleasant, last time they were in the 120's was over 18 months ago, at least we have enjoyed the divi in the meantime.

I was there, quite a large entourage arrived, 7 which I counted, the CEO gave a bullish update, a bald American said they were successful with their horizontal drilling, nothing new came out from what I've seen mentioned on this forum.
Was I impressed, not terribly, why did 7 need to pitch for an AGM in which the CEO gave the usual sales pitch ?

It was a very pleasant surprise to see the Questor column in the Daily Telegraph yesterday tipped Marstons, probably the first buy recommendation in a number of years!

I can't help noticing all the speculation on this site as to when will, what if etc....
I have an indirect holding in BLOE through Amati VCT which as you are all aware has a substantial stake in BLOE.
Were you also aware that the Amati VCT AGM is tomorrow and BLOE are giving a presentation there, at about 14.30 ?
Perhaps they may make a new RNS tomorrow to coincide with that ?
Oddly enough that did happen last year with another of their holdings, FairFX, a few moments before the CEO started to speak the RNS was issued re a take over deal of another company.
I'm not trying to raise hopes here, but you may well be unaware of this, presumably if they are making a presentation at the AGM it is to give good news not bad ?

But rising assets under management mean higher revenues, with a rising yield to boot.

Has anyone noticed that the Chair of Mercia appears to be the same person who is Chair of Woodford Patient Capital ?
Given WIM owns almost 25% of Mercia (last figures on FT website) how is that for corporate governance?
No wonder this stock just keeps on going down !

Very true, and 2.32million traded today.
It could be people are buying as it's now in the 250, or it could very well be corporate activity.
We watch with great interest !

Thanks for that heads up, yes it is indeed tipped enthusiastically, I had to read it twice to make sure I wasn't missing something! They are the UK's largest brewer yet their share cap at present is too small for them to be in the FTSE 250, so there is plenty of upside if all goes to plan, however as a seasoned MARS watcher they usually suffer a few potholes on the way. It has often intrigued me why an overseas brewer doesn't snap them up, they are so cheap....

However someone must be doing something (other than drinking Brakspear) today with the way these shares are rising.

I wish I could believe your pal in the pub, but Woodford has no money to buy anything at present, any trades he will be doing today & in the reasonable future will surely be sales? Remember he needs £250mill for KCC, plus goodness knows how many other people queueing up to leave "Club Wood", and when he does purchase it will surely be in FTSE 100 stocks, so he can be liquid. Some of his unquoted he wouldn't be able to give away at the next Henley church bring & buy sale !
If we go up much further we will be vying to re enter the FTSE 250, a much more optimistic hope than a loser fund manager giving us the kiss of death like he has to Keir, AA, etc etc !

Totally agree they should upgrade the whole be selling off the dross, management's time would be spent much more effectively than opening fresh lodges or gin palaces.
Aditionally the cash raised in sales and saved by curtailing their vanity projects could be more effectively used in reducing our debt mountain.
Why does RF not see it that way ?

I think you are dead right, the variability in MARS estate is too big, for some time I have been thinking that rather than continue opening new Lodges etc the (borrowed) money would surely be far better spent on ;
1) Improving/upgrading what they have already &
2) Investing in a proper staff training programe for both managers and normal staff, much as supermarkets do.
Not saying that you want to walk into a MARS for a formulaic experience but a certain level of service quality would make their estate more attractive, imo

Down again last week, quite a record this stock has when you look at the chart !
I guess that with (according to FT.com) Woodford owning almost 25% & Invesco almost 30% (Barnett?), then add in the management & staff holdings there does seem to be a bit of a stock overhang if for any reason this starts going up instead of down for a change ?
The concept of this company is good, the shareholders register is an issue, imo

Why not stop discussing Brexit and concentrate on VOD ?
In particular how rhe CEO promised to maintain divi, then months later chops it?
That is the question surely ?
Whatever happened he was less than transparent.
