How many did you buy Researcher and at what price? You’ve made the most money here so i am very interested to follow your trades - as i expect everyone else is .

Difficult to disagree with much of what you have set out there JustThink it Thru. Except - you have the clarity of mind to see it in this way - a long, long race and a lot of fences to immediately focus on. That’s a great trading mindset that most of the punters here won’t understand.

And i like the analogy of the one legged jockey - that makes it difficult to finish the race IMO. Especially if the horse isn’t up to the job either.

And Sanji - yes i remember many of the things Mr Newland said. But i have a less good memory of seeing those things followed up over time.

I thought it was nailed on? The excitement nearly got me to invest.

Who said the following when the shares were at 28.25p just the other day:

‘This is a great entry point. Let the pumpers dump. I'll gladly take their shares. This will be all over the weekend press with a rally come Monday.’

Seems like he’s really on the ball.

Is that when the price outperforms you don’t get swamped by rampers. So there’s much less volatility in the price. That gives me a fair degree of confidence that the price is actually meaningful. It also allows you to carry on buying on the rise rather than just being focussed on a sell / a trade.

It’s obvious isn’t it?

You keep buying shares as the share price outperforms over time. So you build your investment as the investment case is proved out over time.

And a short term investment? You buy when the share price falls in the hope the share price will jump .

So which kind of investment is Angle? What sort of investors does it attract?

EC - i have been consistent all the way down. You are right i did not see the recent jump. But i was warning all the way down before that.

As for being annoyed on missing out. Sure - i am a bit as i have been in and out here. But it’s really not that annoying as i would never have risked real money on this.

I have real money in Destiny and Immunocore ( to take two companies in this broad sector ). It took longer for both to more than double but i can also sleep at night having significant investments in stocks like those. And i prefer gentle risers over time than 130% daily rises followed by 40% retrenchment. Interesting that neither of those companies attract the rampers either. Which are also a warning sign.

TomHuk - Angle is the perfect trading stock. No one has any idea at all about what will happen. There are no plans / hurdles set out in any detail at all. There is no long term investment case is there ( oh unless it’s ‘ this is a $100billion market ‘ ) and you need to have a detailed and well-researched long term understanding to suggest that you are well-researched. So the share price just blows up and down ( mainly down ) on sentiment. If you are investing for the long term you are investing in a dream. Maybe the dream will come true - but right now it’s a dream.

If i am wrong then please set out your sales and profit expectations for the next three years with just a little detail of how those sales break down plus plus the cash requirements of course to get the company to profit and cash positive. And then show what value you derive from those numbers. Just a brief paragraph would be sufficient. If you can’t do that, then this isn’t a long term investment is it. It’s a gamble.

And then they are so committed that they buy in hard as the share price falls - it’s called getting a ‘bargain’ as the ‘weak’ sell out and the MM’s manipulate!

I have been there. So i have some sympathy. Never again.

If you follow the smart money you do what researcher did - buy low and sell on the hype. And it appears hes still on the sidelines waiting for it to drop back.

It’s always the same with Angle.

Hyped announcement - in this case the ‘ breakthrough’.

Day traders ramp it up - FOMO strikes.

Ridiculous price forecasts from the rampers to drive more FOMO

Forecasts of more amazing announcements with great certainty

Silly stuff about market manipulation when the share price gets stuck

Over excitement about some already invested totally unknown outfit buying a few more shares

On and on it goes.

But when the mood turns all that hot money runs for the door.

It’s not the first time is it.

That doesn't annoy me at all EC. It’s brilliant to do a great trade. I’ve done some myself.

I, however, was a total mug and 100 per cent taken in by Newland’s hype. Which is probably why i waste my time on this Board!

TomHuk - Newland just needs to be very clear about the commercial prospects. He needs to stop using emotive language and he needs to deliver on whatever he promises. Sanji’s point that he’s had 3 ‘ breakthroughs’ that have led nowhere is just one more warning if one were needed.

But funnily enough, you are right, this discussion has clarified in my mind that i simply won’t invest in a business run by him irrespective of what he says or does now. He is prone to hype. And his track record is one of falling short of expectations. I remember getting sucked into the FDA breakthrough. Every single one of us investing then was a fool because we were investing in a vague hope rather than a clearly defined plan. And i am still astonished that it wasn’t made totally cleat at all times that the FDA approval was for research only. So we were fools - but maybe it’s also fair to say that we were fooled.

Maybe the price will double again tomorrow - and i am happy for you if it does. But i am also happy knowing clearly why i am not investing ATM.

TomHuk - kudos to you because you took a big position and doubled your money. So you have made the correct investment decision over the last couple of months. And I haven’t

I keep thinking about investing. But it’s the history of hype - raising expectations that great things are just round the corner ( but then they aren’t ) that holds me back.

So yes of course the NY has started well.

Personally i have no interest in whether GFP have bought or not - they haven’t proved themselves to be the smartest guys in the room historically.

I guess i am Doubting Thomas in relation to anything this company says now.

Let’s see what happens tomorrow. As i said, to avoid the price just falling back towards where it was a week or two ago he needs to come up with something substantive and show there really is momentum here. I doubt that’s going to happen - nut we will see….

Out of interest, I am in the sector - Immunocore and Destiny are my biggest individual holdings.. Keep buying both as they rise. No hype around them. And clear business models and commercialisation. Plus good Boards. You won’t get 130% uplift in a day, but they’ve both more than doubled over my investment horizon. And i am very happy with that risk / return profile.

And it’s trading on more than 10 times forward sales ( even assuming Newland delivers what he says he will deliver which he never has as far as i can see ).

The very best stocks in the sector maybe trade on 14 times. And this most definitely can’t be described as one of the best stocks.

Oh - and those stocks don’t have a product which is For.Research.Use.Only. They actually have commercialised products.

Newland better pull a big rabbit out of the hat tomorrow or it ain’t going to be pretty.

So the institutional buyer wasn’t exactly institutional. And his track record of value creation in this stock isn't inspiring is it? And now he’s probably used up his firepower. Hence more selling is my guess.

Amazing how you guys think it’s normal markets when the price goes up but manipulation when it goes down.

I’ve been buying all the way up. Like the fact this stock isn’t constantly hyped.

But i did think the latest RNS was poorly worded. Difficult to see what the point was. They need to do better going forward . Clarity is valued in the market.

So you are saying you need the punters to come in to drive the price up to 47p? I guess that makes sense.

No i don’t have a short position. I have been in and out of Angle. I have lost money when i think if there had been full disclosure I wouldn’t have done so. And I don’t care for Mr Newland. And i quite enjoy posting my thoughts on this. Quite simple really.

I am not a de-ramper if that means i am trying to depress the share price as i can’t believe that anything i write can impact the market price. Just like i am sure that you know your posts when the price rises makes no difference either. But people who post about amazing new announcements on Thursday or takeover talks with Illumina or the fact they know that the price is going above 30p or whatever…. Don’t you think they are the people to be concerned about.

Sanji - foolishly from time to time i invest in Angle despite historic losses. I do it because i can’t help thinking a product like this must have a good commercial prospect. But a combination of the company’s hype and poor disclosure is an overbearing concern. I was thinking about going back in this week - but your posts have reminded me why i would probably regret doing that. Too much hype. Too little substance. Terrible track record of price spiking on news that turned out to be insubstantial. Thanks.

And by the way - i see the usual nonsense about this being a takeover target. Incredible isn’t it. In the real sense of that word.
